Jack in the Box — Restaurant in Bakersfield

Drive thru employee that I dealt with this morning was very incompetent of using a coupon. I drove up to the drive thru and stated that I had a coupon i'd like to use here and I asked if they would like for me to provide the 3 digit code, as I normally would at other locations. The employee said no just tell me what exactly is the coupon for. The coupon was for a 17 dollar meal deal for four that consists of 4 tacos,4 value fries, 2 jumbo Jacks and 2 chicken sandwiches. I read to the employee the coupon as she stated to do so and then I proceeded to order some other items as well. Once I pulled up to the window.. she did not ask for my card but asked for me to hand over the coupon, so I did that. The employee .. did not get a name but was a woman who didn't look to be more than 27 years old and was wearing a pink collared uniform shirt at drive thru took quite a while observing my coupon that was not expired. After a while she opened back up the window and started to tell me that she's sorry but it's not working and that they've actually been having an issue with this specific coupon not working and that my only option should be that I pay for regular pricing since coupon isn't functional. My issue is not that the coupon didn't work but tell me why couldn't she be more professional and simply tell me this coupon is having issues and will not work before I make a whole ass order with it? So then I said .. okay no problem.. keep your coupons because she also ended up telling me that she believes they discontinued these coupons . This employee wasted both mine and their own time .. they literally had prepared all the food and thought that I would just wind up paying a full total and be generous to do that even though I specifically intended on using what I thought would be a helpful coupon but nope I wound up telling her keep the coupons and I just left and they probably just had to throw away prepared food.. what a waste waste waste all because employee did not communicate this issue firstly to me. I would have happily ordered different things had I known that my coupon wouldn't work but she chose to allow me to believe I was getting a coupon deal and that was never...

Given that this is one of the few places in the area that is open to get deliveries from, it isn't surprising that they are incredibly busy around 1AM. I'm sure legal cannabis has really created a ton more business for them. Still, the staff member at the window tonight a lovely, plump woman with a tightly wrapped bun was taking orders, collecting payments AND passing orders through the drive through window. Being a delivery driver myself at the moment I consider each food service employee I encounter an equal, a colleague even; however, when I asked this obviously focused woman how her evening was, she did not respond non-verbally (even a smile, a nod or a wink would suffice) or otherwise. Instead, she shouted back the order she had just apparently taken from another drive through customer. So, Mr. Jack, thumbs down for service during the busiest late night hours. Maybe she needs a day shift so she can get some more sleep. Training on hospitality wouldn't hurt either. Maybe she was hungry? Perhaps a bigger employee discount? Either way, the experience tonight was long and ended very unpleasantly with her smile that looked as if it were too painful for her to wear. Surprised about the food we ordered here on 06/12/2018 approx. 4pm or so. 5 STARS today! We ordered the Jacks Spicy Chicken Club Combo for $4.99 small, applause for having a wide array of drinks. Although I do not drink soft drinks, they had flavored drinks as well, like my all-time favorite Grape Hi-C!

We've ordered this combo meal at several places and let say the preparation of the sandwhich was awful and sloppy. Here at this location was superb, almost looked to good to eat. The pictures of it looked exactly like advertised outside the of the restaurant!

The sourdough bun was toasted and buttered to perfection, greens were fresh, cripsy, flavorful, smothered of melted cheese, tender chicken breast, soft, juicy, mildly spicy, hickory-smoked bacon taste of quality, special sauce layered in equally. Soo good! Didn't take a picture, kicking myself for not doing so but, it was prepared exaclty as pictured!

Order the small combo for a lite meal. Sandwhich is not heavy and filling. Last...
