Taco District Carnitas y Más — Restaurant in Bakersfield

10/10/25 I am updating my review today to reflect my last two visits. I was convinced to give the place another chance and I am glad that I did. I have not seen the person who was so rude to me. The people who have been there have all given amazing customer service. I will not delete my original review, but I wanted to update that customer service and time has improved.

Original review: This place has amazing food, but the customer service is HORRIBLE! I was in line behind one other person and as soon as he finished ordering and it was my turn to order the woman on the register walked away and refused to ring me up. I waited forever only to be told to use the self serve order screen. I didn't get a receipt and let one of the employees know because I had no idea what my order number was. As soon as the person that was in front of me got his order the employee that was making the orders walked away and stopped preparing food. At this point I thought maybe my transaction didn't go through so I checked my bank to see if there was a charge, there was. I asked one of the employees working because I had been there for so long and no one was making my food. Someone who ordered after me got their food. I asked again about my order and was finally given the foodbI had ordered for the office. I was there for just over 30 minutes trying to order food for my coworkers. I have never received such bad customer service. I miss the restaurant that used to be here. They would never walk away and refuse to ring up a customer...

Been to Taco District twice now, and I keep coming back for their burritos sudados — they’re really good! I just wish they were a little bigger. Both times the service has been great, and it was nice to see they added a mini split, so it felt much fresher inside on my second visit.

There’s plenty of parking, and they offer a nice variety of salsas and condiments. I also tried a torta, chicken taco, and carnitas — they were okay, but the little burritos are definitely...

any taco spot that makes homemade tortillas get a A+

except I don't eat pork & I couldn't eat the rest of my carnita tacos just took a few bites

I must say the carnita tacos was better than the chicken tacos

Unfortunately I don't eat pork I was just curious & wasn't disappointed
