Tacos La Villa — Restaurant in Bakersfield

I visited this place on Sunday to get my stepdad some menudo, my mom and my daughter a bean and cheese burrito. I found out that the menudo was $12 for what I would say is a medium size styrofoam bowl. That's not insane but I would still say that that is a bit on the expensive side, especially since they didn't put much tripe in it (I've had much better at other places in town). I also found out that the kids bean and cheese burrito which is only about 4 inches long and an inch and a half wide (roughly equivalent to the size of a pair of toddler's sunglasses) at most is $2.68 a piece. If you want a regular adult size burrito with only bean and cheese inside, you are paying $7.50! You've got to be out of your mind with that type of price for some refried beans, a little mozzarella cheese, and a tortilla. The bean and cheese burritos are fairly tasty but if you're looking to spend nearly $50 for two medium bowls of soup, four 4" burritos, and two small tacos, then this is your place! I asked for the corn tortillas to go along with my soup and they tasted like old oil. I couldn't even finish one of them. On top of that, add in that the door to walk in and out of the shop, has a slow hinge that allows the door to close very slowly, all the while making this crazy loud beeping noise the entire time it's open. Lastly, when I asked them about why a bean burrito costs $7.50, they had a haughty attitude and just said, that's what it cost. A few months ago I wrote a review about Tacos La Villa's deceptive practice of showing a photo of THREE tacos on Uber Eats under the heading of TACOS. This would imply you are getting (3) tacoS with the photo shown. Many people have dissed Tacos La Villa in their reviews for this practice, including myself. I was contacted by Tacos La Villa after my review and asked if I would consider taking my post down if they gave me a $40 gift card. I told them I would edit it - but not take it down until they changed the misleading photo. The review is under the Ming Avenue location. I was instructed to go to the Rosedale location to get the gift card so Rosedale gets this nice review today.
