I have been to Sweet Basil’s many many times in Shippenville. This was my fourth visit to Cousin Basil’s. This time I went I was very disappointed. I stood there waiting for someone to acknowledge me for over 5 minutes while the staff walked around talking to each other. I would have understood if it would have been busy but there were only 2 tables being used, one with 2 people the other with 4 people. When I finally got seated I ordered and whenever I received my meal I got the lasagna. Everything tasted good except there was maybe a tablespoon of sauce in the whole meal. So I pretty much had a plate of noodles meat cheese and whatever herbs they had in it. It would’ve been very good if they just would have put more sauce with it. At the next table over from where I sat there was a waitress sitting there playing a game on the phone and it ended up being four waitresses sitting there playing with their phones talking. A girl was standing behind the bar doing some thing and she was talking with them as well. I found it very annoying. I was trying to enjoy the music and my dinner. I don’t believe staff should be sitting there talking loudly and shouldn’t they have been working anyway? I am not a picky person and like I said I’ve been to Sweet Basil’s many times but never had a problem getting seated or the staff sitting around talking loudly. What kind of message does that send out to their customers? If I ever do decide to go back to that basils I will make sure I go when they’re busy to be sure that the staff is working like they should be and not sitting around talking right by the customers. And I will be sure to ask for more sauce if I order...

My family and I decided to stop in here Sunday 8/17/14 after canoeing for the day. We were seated right away. The building is nice but kind of cluttered. After being seated our waitress walked by and said "I'll get to you guys when I can". What do you mean when you can? When the waitress finally did come to us she took our drink order then brought them to us over filled and spilling all over the table. When it was time to order food I ordered the 12oz NY Strip Steak(Well done). On the menu this item says it comes with 2 sides and a side salad. She asked me what two sides I wanted and then started taking another person at my tables order. I asked her about the side salad and she told me that it's not their policy to give a side salad with that meal. Meanwhile it says on the menu it comes with a side salad. I said whatever and let it go. When our meals finally came our she had me cut into my steak and it was still bloody so I had her send it back. My steak had to be sent back twice because someone couldn't follow orders. After everyone else was done eating I finally was able to eat my steak which was extremely dry and unseasoned. I was never once asked if I wanted steak sauce. My sides however were delicious. Their homemade mac and cheese is amazing. I personally will never be going back to this restaurant. I can think of tons of better...

A poorly executed Reuben sandwich. Best to stick to their Italian offerings as it seems they do them better than non-Italian menu offerings. A group of 7 of us visited yesterday afternoon.my 2nd time there under this ownership. Having eaten at the Iron mountain grill several times, we liked the place and the food. My fist visit under new ownership was pleasant and I enjoyed a Stromboli. Yesterday I had a taste for a Reuben sandwich. I asked the waiter how the corned beef was and if it was lean. He replied that as far as he knew it was lean, but he never had it. Food was delivered to the table in a timely manner but the corned beef was anything but lean. Aside from being a meager portion of corned beef for a 15.00 sandwich it was mostly fat and sliced WITH the grain. Having resturant experience, I realized they did not separate the flat from the point of the brisket and trim all the fat in between, but just sliced the entire brisket! I asked for different meat but it was the same. I just sent it back and ordered a burger. Burger was good. Two of my friends ordered the strip steak and they said they were real fatty too. Quality didnt justify the price. Waiter was great, apologized and gave my friends with the steak and I, his employee discount. It wasn't his fault. We...

Such an amazing experience. The last time I was here it was still under old ownership of the Iron Mountain and it was great back then and it's even better now. From the moment I walked in the door the environment was classy and clean, every staff member was extremely kind and ready to serve, the table was very comfortable, the music choices where... Random to say the least but that's probably the most I'll complain. Every single thing we ordered was amazingly fresh, hot, and delicious. I included pictures of the food, the atmosphere, and even the extremely clean and well stocked restroom. The hostess was quick to seat us and happy to list off what was good, our server knew pretty much everything about the menu and what we asked her, as well as being extremely nice. 10/10 experience and I will most certainly be visiting again to try something different. The prices where average, not cheap but certainly not expensive, honestly its what you would expect to pay. I love seeing businesses like this do great and do nothing but please the guest and try to make a buck and Cousin Basils does an extremely good job.

This place is a NEW MUST VISIT if you love food with outstanding flavor and perfect presentation. The textures were right, the preperation was right, the flavors were right. The portions were generous and the prices were excellent for a meal of this quality. The new owner and manager have taken it to the next level. I was impressed with the quality of their meats. Theres some things they have yet to get Ironed out, but I expect it will only continue to improve. We were told they just finished installing a Ten Tap upgrade to the bar area today. Theres something on the menu for everyone and the menu selections are impressive. My wifes favorite is a steak sandwich. She has tried them from anywhere we have been that serves them. She said the Steak Sandwich here is the best she has ever eaten. I did not ask if the table bread was baked in house, but I suspect it is. I will ask when I visit again. We didnt take a picture of the wings, but they were great. Perfectly sauced and crispy outside, tender and moist inside. A+. IF YOUR A FOODIE, DONT PASS THIS PLACE UP!

Incredible resteraunt in the cooks forest area. It's one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. I did not see any other items besides burgers since Monday is burger day. The atmosphere is very nice, with nice lighting and seating. It is on the higher end for prices, but it is worth it. The food came out perfect, and the wait time was short. The staff was very pleasant and answered all of the questions. The only part that was minimal was trying to track down the waitress for refills. She didn't come and ask either, but as she said, she was very nice, but also had a large table that she was taking care of. They have daily specials, and we will be back.
