Just arrived on the Cape and the kids are starving and the adults need a beverage: Kettle Ho is the place to go! The targeted yet diverse menu had six selections for the kids and fish, beef, sandwiches, salads, apps for the adults. Charming tavern atmosphere where the severs, bussers, and bartenders are genuinely happy you are there. We had the most amazing server who treated our five kids with respect and was someone who I would grab drinks with after! A mix of locals and vacationers all enjoying the food and drinks, laughter and baseball in the air. What more do you want? We came in around 4:30 and it was busy (as it should be!) when we were leaving at 6pm. Adults had the Swordfish special with double veg (garlic butter was amazing!), Sirloin tips perfectly medium rare, and the Kettle Ho burger which has EVERYTHING which was absolutely delicious. (Sorry all the food pics have bites out of them, we couldn't control ourselves!) Although we aren't always in Cotuit we will come back no matter where we are on the Cape. Bravo from the front of the house to the back. "This is not the Ho you use to know."

This tavern was an absolute jewel to find. It was gushing with New England charm and character. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and had great customer service. The food was delicious and for a change I actually said yes to the specials that were offered. The lobster bisque was absolutely amazing and the garlic parmigiana fries were cooked to a crispy perfection. I also tried the shrimp tacos which were prepared perfectly. The drinks were poured with love and I left there full and content. I was s amazed at the number of large groups that were still frequenting the place after the holiday. The cape usually rolls up the sidewalks after Labor Day but the place was hopping and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I would highly recommend this place if your i town and looking for a place that the locals call home

I'm not sure why this place is so highly rated. Maybe the pub fare is better. All the seafood dishes my party ordered were not good. The clams were overdone, the pasta was runny and not tasty. My husband did like the baked scallops! The chowder tasted canned. The waitress was lovely, she was handling almost the entire place with a smile and no mistakes. The burgers we saw go by did look nice. Townie atmosphere.

Great local spot. There will be a wait, unless you are by yourself and there's a spot between the locals at the bar. Burger Burger Burger Grilled cheese Fish and chips Baked seafood casserole Not much that I can comment on but my own. The casserole is huge shrimp, scallops, and scrod basted in butter sauce. Then covered in a parmesan bread crumb. Baked til hot, bubbly, and crunchy. Fresh seafood is always going to taste good. Butter only makes things better. I felt it was a bit under seasoned. But if you've read my reviews, you know I expect flavor to pop on my food. Pepper, and hot sauce remedied this. The mashed potatoes were standard, but abundant. The green beans had that crunch I love. I would have preferred them hotter instead of barely warm. A heated plate will help this. Service was good. The interior airflow was rough. Yes it was air conditioned from outside, but not a place to retreat to for cold air. We were seated near a window that our server encouraged us to open. Draft beer and cold glasses were ideal. The stuffed Quohogs($5) were hot and different for me. Since I have only had them once, it’s tough to comment. They were a good value for seafood size pricing. A pop of flavor would keep it out of the neutral category. Personal seasoning was required. On other visits I had a recommendable Steak Tips salad, and Wedge salad. I found the Kettle Ho burger, and Steak Tips sandwich on the mediocre side.

I will return,...

It was our first time here. It was packed. The hostess stand is in the back right and not too noticeable when the place was packed to the brim. So when we walked in no one acknowledged us (it is that kind of place - like everyone who has been there has come for generations and "knows the unspoken rules" - which is fine but we stood around for a bit before we could actually talk to someone to put our name in for a table, which was a 45 minute wait at 7pm). Lucky for us, two seats opened up at the bar after 15 minutes. We sat there and had GREAT service by Sam the bar tender. He was mindful, attententive, made excellent drinks and could talk to all people. When I say generations come there, it is not an exaggeration. There were people in their 20s, 30s and with babies in tow, middle-aged, retired, and even those spry folk in their 80s! The appetizer special- shrimp postickers - was ok and a little over cooked but the main dishes were great- little necks over pasta and baked sea scallops. And decently priced for the Cape! We...
