Yannis Pizza and Kalo Coffee & Ice Cream — Restaurant in Barnwell

Totally honest review. I want to love this place because I grew up with it and even worked there for a while for the other owners.

The food is basically the same, though some items aren't quite what used to be available.

The poor single waitress was doing all she could to manage a full House of tables but many customers didn't get the service they deserved because of her being just overwhelmed by the volume of business.

There were some items on the menu that were not available (crowd favorites- Greek chicken etc) that were staples of the older regime.

The subs, pizza, calizones, antipasto salad...all still good but they're more expensive.

The father/son (I think) are incredibly nice and courteous...always welcoming and make me feel appreciated for my business. I prefer to visit when I know they're there.

I hope this review is taken as advice for the owners and I still encourage people to support this local establishment. It's not some national franchise, it's good homemade Greek food that is worth going to...it just needs to be tweaked a little...

This place has always been a bit on the expensive side but I didn't mind because of the food, however it is even more expensive now and the food quality has gone WAY down. Trying to support small businesses during this pandemic and not wanting to cook on a Friday night, spent a small fortune on two large pizzas, two large Greek salads and some wings. Pizza crusts and sauce were hugely disappointing, taste like they brought prepared junk from Sysco or something, not homemade crusts or sauce at all! Then the wings taste like some Sam's or Costco wings you heat in the oven and serve! I could of done much better myself and for a whole lot cheaper with junk out of Walmart! Sorry, but won't be back....and there is SO FEW choices in this area which is why they'll get...

Yannis has the best pizza we have found in the USA! We discovered it on the way home from a beach trip about 5 years ago. Now we regularly drive an hour from home just to enjoy a pizza that is always perfect! Nice thin chewy,but crisp flavorful crust,a nice layer of slightly sweet but rich tomato flavored sauce and premium toppings! The atmosphere is quaint as you listen to the owners Mom( i believe Greek) chat away. She makes the best brownies from scratch and uses honey in them! The servers are always attentive and kind! I thought my pizza days were over when i became diabetic. Nope! Yannis pizza full of good ingredients does not...
