China III — Restaurant in Barrett Township

Please DO NOT EAT HERE for your own good. My first and last experience with china 3 entails the fact that 3 dishes were wrong and the fact that I found ANIMAL HAIR in one dish. It looks like a ball of cat hair fell into my dish. I called back to report the mistake and inquire about the possibility of animals being in the kitchen. I was told they would only remake the one dish and that I am the one who put the cat hair in the dish. After I let them know that this was unacceptable this was with speaking with the manager by the way, I was told to do whatever I wanted and I would not be refunded or have another order delivered to me.

Bottom line is that this place needs to be shut down. Unsanitary conditions and total incompetence. The food you eat is not something to shrug off and I also found upon more inspection of the food that half of the chicken was grey and looked spoiled as well. I tried China 3 at the suggestion of a friend who’s a great chef. It’s the typical standard Chinese menu with reasonable prices. Every other aspect of their food is awesome. My reluctance with most of these places is the overuse of oil. I ordered a standard - shrimp with mixed vegetables. Cooked to tenderness, seasoned perfectly and zero oil residue. The rice was cooked to tenderness also. The friendliness and overall appearance of cleanliness was a deal closer for me. Best to order in advance so if you walk in and place an order be patient. I like that they cook one order at a time to keep it good!

Update 3/08/25 this place is so consistently good it’s incredible. I had my usual again - shrimp with mixed vegetables. I should mention it’s takeout here. Update: I decided to give it a try again because it's the closest one and it was rush hour. Today we found a screw in our chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce. Picture attached. I won't be going back.

I've been going to this place for years and I gotta say their food has gone to crap. Today was the last straw. I bought wings ( they say 4 but it's really 3.5 ) also got an egg roll and dried out old fries. They were all cooked in VERY OLD oil. The fries were so old and had been fried several times. They were dried out on the inside. I thought maybe they were just a bit overdone... But nope they were just hard shells that resembled fries. My 2 yo almost choked on one. See pictures.
