My wife and I really enjoyed our meal during our visit to the Poconos in August 2023. Frustratingly for us, the first two restaurants where we were planning on dining that evening closed at 9 p.m., even though per Google, both restaurants were open until 10. (That fact became obvious to me only when I called those restaurants to make reservations.) Having had our first two options ruled out, we then searched for a restaurant that would be open fairly late in the evening. We then came across The Pour House which was supposedly open until midnight. When we arrived at The Pour House, we were happy to be promptly seated. We were also happy to see live music being played at the front of the restaurant and happier still when the musician played Elton John's Rocketman, one of my favorite songs! Now to food: For our main courses, I got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and my wife got the Chicken Fajitas. While my bun could have benefited from some mayo/ butter spread on it and my wife's fajitas could have likewise benefited from some salt, both of us enjoyed our main courses. My fries, that came with the sandwich, were particularly nice - crispy and well-seasoned. Although we were quite full after the large portions served to us, we decided to try out their desserts and got the brownie sundae. The icecream in that sundae was delicious and we licked up the whole mason jar clean. Besides the food, the service was very good. Our server helped my wife try out two beverages before she made her selection. She also checked in with us periodically and brought us side plates or napkins as we needed them. There were two other girls helping clean the tables or attending to guest requests and both of them were friendly and helpful. Lastly, value. Our entire meal, that included two entrees, a beer, and a huge dessert, came to $52. Even with a $8 tip added, it was still $60. Not cheap, but in today's day and age, those prices seemed very reasonable, especially considering how many restaurants in the Poconos jack up prices for tourists. Not The Pour House! All in all, I enjoyed my experience here enough that I would be happy to come back here again if I found myself in the area.

Cool neighborhood spot. Love the location, the style & decor (i.e. beverages in mason jars, old signage on the walls, etc) and it offers a great range of menu options. I am stoked to see they have live šŸŽµ, and hope to catch that one time! The waitresses/hosts we're super friendly and helpful, dishes were cleared quickly and food arrived quickly. The main reason for my rating here is that the food could have been better. šŸ˜” The avocado šŸ„‘ on my burger was completely underripe, and the guac was not at all creamy--just chunky veggies mixed together with, sadly, no flavor. (I would have asked for a new serving, but it seemed that there was a batch of unripe avocado). Meanwhile, the fish tacos were so spicy that my family members (two had them) said they could only taste heat. The tacos' accompanying sides (a pico, and a slaw of some kind, were also hot-- if not hotter than the fish 🐟 šŸ”„šŸ„µ). Only the rice side could be finished. If they complimented the dish with a sweet and creamy side or two, it would've been excellent. I will say, my impossible burger was outstanding (aside from the unripe avocado)! And the sweet potato šŸ  fries were crispy and tasty! I will definitely give this place another try, and looking forward to upping my rating.

My boyfriend and I were the most excited to try this restaurant all weekend. It was all we kept talking about after it being recommended to us by Google and our hotel host. Here’s our thoughts:

Appetizer: rattlesnack bites 2/5 We expected them to be smaller balls but they were 4 large cube looking pieces of fried Mac and cheese. It was just 4 Mac and cheese cubes over some chipotle ranch. The chipotle ranch was only drizzled under the bites and honestly was the best part. Probably would’ve been a 4/5 if they had drizzled some on top. The Mac and cheese was very bland and supposedly made with pepper jack cheese. There was 0 spice to it beside the chipotle ranch sauce. If in the 1/10 chance we ever come back here again, we will not get these.

Drinks: 3/5 He just got a miller on draft. Can’t mess that up. I got a spooky Halloween drink, a cranberry margarita I believe. It was okay. Tasted very similar to a Malibu Baybreeze. But after my drink and the app I got very sick to the stomach and was in the bathroom for quite a while.

Meals: 4/10 I got a Reuben with French fries. I have never seen such a sad looking Reuben in my entire life. 2 pieces of meat MAX slapped on there with loads of sauce and a small amount of sauerkraut. Pretty upset because I couldn’t decide what to order since everything sounded good and that’s what I end up with. I just ended up getting it and my fries in a to go back since I wasn’t feeling well. But I can’t believe how the bread was much larger than the portions on the sandwhich. Fries were good but no ketchup on table and none offered. Strange but ok I guess.

His words: He got a burger called ā€œthe spicy oneā€ the bun was massive compared to the size of the burger. Cooked well but it seems like they make the bun so large to make the burger look huge but really it isn’t a lot. Fries were good. Wouldn’t get again

The pickle. THE PICKLE. I am a pickle girl at heart. I’d hurt someone over a crisp dill pickle. My man isn’t aloud to eat his pickle idc how bad he wants it, it’s mind. When I tell you I bit into my pickle and it tasted like how wet dog smells that’s when I got the urge to puke. A part of me died. I’m even in several pickle Facebook groups. They would be devastated to know that’s how my pickle tasted. I have never tasted a worst pickle in my life and I’ve had multiple different kinds. Literally the most disappointing thing of my entire meal was the pickle. Literally smelled and taste like someone just left it sit on the table all by itself for hours and said ā€œoh yeah we should get rid of this nowā€ and accidentally put it on my plate instead of the garbage can.

Overall we will not be coming back. I don’t write reviews usually unless I feel strongly about a place, good or bad. Do not let the good reviews fool you. Look at the most...

So I’m the girlfriend of the review Mike B left. Finishing this story I called about a month later as it still ticked me off, we usually go to Basso in town which is the best restaurant in Cresco. When I called I explained what had happened which they apologized over and over, they told us to come back and they would comp our meal and drinks. I refused to but Mike ordered takeout. Just a burger fries and coleslaw. He always says you can judge a restaurant on their coleslaw and homemade items. Well the coleslaw he was given no lie was rotten lettuce with a water downed mayo sauce. Burger was still bloody, badly! He orders medium rare every time that’s it not rare. The lettuce in the burger was also rotten and had a smell to it! So he threw it all out at home. He texted me pics so I did witness it. At least he didn’t have to pay for it this time. It’s a shame as many of his friends go there and this place came recommended but I will tell you we will never ever go back. Either a total lack of morality the second time with serving him spoiled items or complete idiotic incompetence from their chefs. At least I didn’t have to see that ā€œmanagerā€ again. I don’t let these sort of things go easily. I hope these reviews get out about this place. Pathetic, Pour House,...
