We reserved a dinner for our 10th Wedding Anniversary and enjoyed a nice meal. It was not anything special but tasty. My husband had his classic Dewars Scotch with a splash of club soda and I had Baileys on ice. We had decided on a later meal at 7pm so did not want a huge amount of food. I ordered the Salmon dish and asked the waitress to please have the chef prepare it 'well done to crispy' to which she replied after serving it to me, she never knew that you could or should order it like that but the chef understood and verified that it was a proper order. The grilled Salmon was prepared very well and was presented with a bed of both lentils and sautéed spinach and topped with roasted delicata squash rounds. I enjoyed every bite. My husband ordered the same dish and left the prep to the chef, his was not grilled as long and cooked to his liking. For dessert (which in all honesty I thought might have come with some kind of decor to notate our anniversary or acknowledgement of the special occasion. When we reserved our table we were asked if it were a special occasion but it didn't matter) we chose the tiramasu. It was dry and not soaked in the typical coffee liquid that traditionally makes the cake sumptuous. The meal overall was good and the servers attentive but just not exceptional. The price and value were comparable to the experience. The location would normally be a high point as the restaurant is located on a lake but after dark you have no views except windows overlooking a lawn with a fire pit and some Adirondack chairs. Romantic and titillating it was not. The location had a front deck with a gaslit fire and chairs to relax upon with awnings for cover at the ready but it was too cold on the night we visited to sit out...

One of the rare instances where on initial glance, the restaurant seems underwhelming. Located on the second floor above a golfing shop with bland exterior decor, initial thoughts were that this is not an upscale experience. I was delighted to be proven wrong. The interior design of the dining area is fantastic, with a beautiful view of the ravine below and golf hole in the distance. The staff was an absolute delight, and our waiter was great to chat with. We felt our dietary needs accommodated and presence appreciated. The maitre d’hotel checked in with us twice expertly, which is something I find rare in non-Michelin-esque restaurants. From a food perspective, I simply have no complaints — after numerous inadequate meals in other places throughout this trip, a well-crafted menu was a welcomed sight. We ordered a charcuterie board to start, which came with a wonderful spread (the quince jelly was immensely delicious). I had a special of NY strip and my wife had a lamb chop entree. Both were cooked perfectly and to their correct respective temperatures, alongside beautiful plating and delicious sides of mashed potatoes or couscous. Dessert was a blast too, as the chocolate chip bar tasted fantastic. Overall, if you’re staying near by, Lakeview is absolutely something to consider — with two drinks, we spent $180 before...

Food: A delicious, top-tier restaurant. My hubby and I came to Skytop Lodge for our honeymoon, and had a date night in the Inn at Lakeview last night. I had the Autumn Gnocchi and he had the Osso Bucco (veal shank). We had a fig flatbread as our appetizer. We both had the affogato, I had some sort of amaretto dessert, and he had a delectable cheesecake. Mmmmmm.... Staff: The staff was excellent, the food top notch, and I was very full at the end. They even gave us two cannoli when we told them it was our honeymoon!! Bless this place and these people. We had a nice conversation with our waitress too, and she told us about her wedding. Lovely time. The hostess that seated us helped is get a ride back to the main lodge via their shuttle service. Cost: This is a top tier restaurant, so expect to pay for that quality. This is not a place for kids. This is meant as a date night place. They have a dress code (resort casual), but you could go nicer...
