The Island Chef — Restaurant in Bartlett

This was my first time trying The Island Chef. I was at a local bar and was asking recommendations on good food and I talked about how I wanted a really good sandwich and a bartender had recommended this place and said try the Cuban. Now I have tried a lot of Cubans prior, but MAN can they make a really good Cuban sandwich and a REAL Cuban sandwich. All the ingredients are fresh and everything tasted so good. I tried their smoked pepperoni too and that was great (coming from an Italian). If I could give zero stars, I would! We ordered a ham & cheese for my daughter. No cheese. My son in law's coral reef sandwich had a hair in it! And cash only, really? Ridiculous.

No, it is not a fraudulent review. And my family and I were extremely friendly and nice to the person who took our order, even when we told you about the oversight on the ham & cheese. Unfortunately we didn't discover the hair in the coral reef sandwich until we were almost back at our hotel. I was really looking forward to getting a few sandwiches from here after seeing pictures and reviews. We headed up during Feb school vacation week and I had my two kids with me. There is a sign on the door that says “no kids.” So I asked the workers inside if that was true and they said yes “because we don’t want to get Covid.” RIDICULOUS!! please educate yourselves as Covid doesn’t work like that.
