Most importantly, their baked goods are amazing. They make great breads, cakes, pies and there’s nothing better in the Valley.

But their five star back of the house operations are not lived up to in the front of the house, and they genuinely don’t seem to care. Their behind-the-counter staff is slow, inefficient, and often surly. They acknowledge that their coffee cups and lids don’t seal right, but won’t change them (I’m done with their spilled coffee in my car!). Their packaging is cheap, and anything greasy leaks through (even a sheet of wax paper would help), so again where to set it down in your car? I’ve asked several times about these things and they just get defensive… so until they can figure out the basics, I’ll just buy an occasional loaf of...

This bakery was the best surprise ever! We came across it after hiking the Pemi Loop, coming down from seeing the Crawford Notch. It has the most amazing baked goods of all sorts - with a European style. We had homemade pizza, a small loaf of bread with a bowl of tomato soup, and a grilled panini, and enjoyed sitting at their little high table and seeing customers come and go. It has a following! And no wonder. The bread had the best crumb ever. It was absolute perfection. The pizza dough was amazing! We had chocolate croissants and a slice of Linzer Torte along with us that were absolutely scrumptious. We can't wait to come by again one day! This is the closest we've come to the heaven of bakeries you can also...

Vintage Baking Company is just another gem to make the White Mountains one of the most memorable trips ever. Crisp mountain air, hot coffee, fresh baked sour dough bread sliced just before you buy, soft gooey sweet cinnamon rolls, and they even sell whipped cinnamon butter right out of the cold case. Oh I don’t know why I just don’t move there. It was closing time when we went in and almost every person in line asked for the pizza. Of course they were out. I never had the chance to get it but I know where I’ll be in the AM next trip . One of the staff members were a bit “short” with us but it was the end of the day. And I don’t even care she can punch me in the face as long as it means I get a cinnamon roll....
