Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Bartlett

Went there tonight with my one-year-old son and my 8-year-old daughter. After we place our order it took them about 20 min. just to ring in my order so I could pay. The guy behind the counter was very nice but he seemed to be new and unsure how to ring in certain items. The other workers didn't seem interested in helping him ring in the blizzard at all. They said they didn't know so he had to call his manager on the phone which took another 10-15 min just so I could pay. All while this was happening the lady behind the counter that was making the blizzards proceeded to give my daughter and I dirty looks throughout the entire time. My baby was starting to get antsy after being in there for about a half hour or more and they were obviously very annoyed with me; giving me there mean mugs and their eye rolls. The icing on the cake that made the whole experience terrible is when I was on my way out and my daughter got extra hot queso sauce with her pretzels that we ordered & it was burning her mouth so I aksed if there was anything else besides extra hot sauce for her to dip her pretzels in and she told me NO! I pointed to all the different sauces that was right behind her behind the counter and I said are you sure that there are no other sauces and she said there is absolutely nothing she could give me and turned and walked away! I was very upset that I spent $30 at a place that made me wait about 40 minutes with my baby just so I could pay and wouldn't even give me a different sauce when there was clearly lots of different things behind the counter. Never have I experienced such rude customer service in my life! This was my first time ever here I'm just visiting for the week on vacation. Was so excited to try this place out and the customer service experience I received today 8/30/2023 at about 5:30pm...

The last DQ I went to was terrible, from top to bottom. This DQ was soooo much better. I give a lot of credit to the staff, they were pleasant, and were working hard to get everything right. Not a whole lot of ice cream places to pick from, so this was a welcomed treat.

My only real complaint was the condition of the certain areas of the restaurant. There were 2 “sections” of seating inside. One isle was good, the other… not so much. The isle that led to the bathroom was pretty rough. You could tell that a young child was eating gold fish in a high chair, because the goldfish were all over the floor. Ok, they were probably really busy, and just didn’t get to it. No problem. BUT, unfortunately we could smell the bathrooms from the booth we were sitting in, which was pretty far away.

So just the smell, coupled with the appearance made for a rough experience.

I’m probably over exaggerating it. But overall, I’d still recommend it, and go back...

Food is ok. If getting take out make sure you check for everything.. they tend to forget things like your sauce even though they've upgraded their registers to ask for a tip.

Edit: went back a day later just for ice cream. Ordered 4 deserts and got 3 correct deserts out of 4 and got charged for 5. Asked for a correct desert but the staff wouldn't remove the wrong one. After expressing my dissatisfaction the owner grabbed a random receipt from the stack and credited me for more than the one dessert (thank you). Added another star for the owner setting...
