I just went to Marty B's Coffee Company for the first time today. What a disappointment! We went through the drive through, so we didn't see the inside, but isn't the quality of the coffee the way a coffee house should be judged? Anyway, they seem to have problems hearing us, even though we were very close to the microphone when ordering. They repeated the order back to us and it was correct, then told us to pull around to the window. (We ordered two hot lattes, one medium caramel, the other a small lavender/coconut) When we arrived at the window they repeated the order back to us again, and low and behold, it was wrong... Amazing, we drove 50 feet and the order somehow changed.
We received our coffees and the first thing we noticed is that they were tepid. They obviously hadn't steamed the milk long enough to get it to the correct temperature. Then I tasted my caramel latte. I'm not sure if this was the worst latte I have ever had, but if it wasn't, it runs close to last place! I can only describe it as "dish water"! There was almost no caramel flavor, and the coffee was so weak that it tasted like free grocery store drip coffee. Yuck! I ended up dumping it!
Maybe I caught them on a bad day... But really, as a new business that wants to build a loyal customer base and return business, EVERY day should be a good day! And they can't say that they were busy (though that wouldn't even be an excuse for such poor quality), because we were the ONLY car in the drive through, and the parking lot was pretty empty. So really... No excuse... Just bad product.
You know, you only get one chance to make a first impression, and they totally blew it. We won't bother again, simply drive further to get coffee worth buying (Like maybe Edison Coffee).
I will say that the staff lived up to the company slogan on the website... "Hot Coffee, Warm Welcomes". But the product certainly didn't, as it was neither hot, nor coffee! If you are a coffee lover, and If I were you, I'd skip this place and save your $12+ for two coffees (one small and one medium... premium prices for junk coffee... what a waste) for a "Real" Coffee Shop who's menu has more coffee on it than booze and food... What a shame, I was really hoping to have a good coffee shop near us... How disappointing.
This is another of Marty's "mediocre product for premium prices" restaurants. But, who can blame him, people buy this junk. Which just goes to show, "You can fool most of the people most of the time".
Oh, and if you are going to give me a "cut and paste" reply "Brian we are sorry to hear you weren't...." Then don't bother. Spend that time improving your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI took a trip to see my sister recently and she happens to work for one of Marty Bās amazing concepts. Iāve never heard of Marty Bās anything so I was thrilled to try out a new place. She took me here for a coffee date and let me sample her food she personally created, plus other food that was she didnāt personally create. And the coffee. Now that I am back in Temple I am slowly dying on the inside. There is no Marty Bās anything down here and my husband and I both have gone on a coffee boycott until we can make it back to Marty Bās Coffee to order more!
I can tell such a HUGE difference between the incredible quality of Martyās compared to Starbucks and Dutch Bros. Iām absolutely baffled. Martyās taste alone is so pure and ārealā. (I tried the Nitro, the Pistachio white mocha cold brew, and even a lavender cold brew.) I never realized how āchemicalā Starbucks tasted until I tried this place. Hands down the best Iāve EVER had and I am crying on the inside for not being able to have it again.
The Kolaches they serve are freaking incredible. The brisket was my favorite which I dipped in their bbq sauce they give out when you order this. The zucchini bread is something I never in my life would have thought to try, but thanks to my sister I did and it tastes better than banana bread. Whatās better than banana bread? That freaking zucchini bread for sure. It was so moist and had an incredible balance of sweetness with the flavor of the vegetable that it blew my mind. Genuinely.
Another massive shoutout goes to the Croissant cinnamon roll with the cream cheese frosting. My kids loved it, husband loved it, I loved it, and my sister CREATED IT and I am SO blown away by her talent. Aside from being related to her and loving everything about her already, Iām giving an HONEST review! The cinnamon roll has a slight crisp to it because of the Croissant dough and not the typical cinnamon roll dough used. Itās soft inside and the frosting blows it out of the water. Completely. Next time I come to the Dallas area, Iām definitely heading straight back over to this coffee shop as many times as I can before I have to leave again.
Thank you all for being such amazing employees and making all of these masterpieces so perfectly. Your customer service skills are beautiful and you have made me feel so welcome each time I stopped by. And keep blowing Starbucks out of business because yāall are absolutely killing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst of all this place is going to be great. Only leaving this criticism for management to help dial in the quality of the new opening, I know Marty cares about his restaurants. Food is going to be/is great. Had the brisket taco, if Iām being picky Iād say there could be a tad more brisket to the egg brisket ratio and the wife had the chicken biscuit and if we were being picky thereās something off about the biscuit, maybe under baked, just seemed a bit pale but really itās a legit biscuit sandwich with a great crust and flavor in the chicken. Itās sooooo nice to see a coffee shop with awesome savory breakfast items and not just a bunch of stale pastries. Coffee is good one of the best around although mine was wrong the wifeās vanilla latte was really good. The line in the drive was a bit of chaos that will get perfected Iām sure. The attendants needs to prompt the drivers a bit. I witnessed people not knowing what to do after their order was taken, drivers crossing in front of others after order was taken and aggravating others, one line moved waaaay faster than the other. It seems that the attendants just needed to inform drivers how they were managing the line. All that being said in a line totaling about 15 we got through in 5-8 minutes. This will be a regular breakfast treat. Go visit Marty bs coffee itās a breakfast spot not just a coffee shop. Oh and there needs to be a larger drive through only sign. Multiple people including us only noticed after they were out of the car and up to the restaurant including us, baby, gear and all. Edit 4 to 5 star from second experience. Chicken biscuit was great(nice and golden, staff is great and I mean they may just reset your mind frame to be happier if your morning isnāt going good kind of great. Line was better managed. This is a great hearty breakfast and coffee joint if...
