Wow, amazing food and enthusiastic friendly wait staff! We finally have a favorite Mexican restaurant after 3 years of searching in this area! We will definitely be regulars and can’t wait to try their breakfast menu and famous hamburgers.

5 of us tried different dishes and shared with each other. We had Chile Rellenos stuffed with beef fajita with an amazing red sauce, the chimichanga was exceptional, barbacoa delicious, and combo plates #1 and #3 were packed with delicious enchiladas, crispy tacos and extraordinary tamales. Salsa and chips were great and a to die for green sauce.

This is a family owned restaurant and absolutely must be on your...

I lived in Red Rock, Texas for 20+ yrs. I eat at El Borrego every time I visit. I was there last Sunday and the food is still excellent. You also can't beat the breakfast tacos. If you live in Austin, Bastrop or Lockhart it is extremely worth the drive. The owner and staff are very friendly. I have NEVER had a bad experience. Great Authentic Mexican food and so much food for the price. This is a fairly small family run business. I called on Saturday afternoon to see if they could accommodate about 20 of us right after it Church. They went to extreme measures not only not only to accommodate us but never turned away a single...

Practically the only restaurant left in Red Rock, this place is AWESOME! Specializing in Tex-Mex but has wide ranging menu to include sandwiches, steaks, burgers, etc. The Mexican food is excellent and they are generous with portions. The wait staff are very friendly and efficient and keep a clean restaurant. We go for breakfast tacos, a quick lunch bite, a family dinner, or pick up food to go. They deserve all the business from locals and passers-through because they are cranking out hot tasty homemade food that is at very fair prices. YUMMY! (Favorite is the fajita...

Update: They got rid of the smoking area. That’s awesome and really appreciated. The food isn’t great quality but it’s also not very expensive so it’s a trade off. The service is always good. The part that kills it for me is that they allow smoking. Without a lot of other redeeming factors, it’s hard to believe they’d be dumb enough to allow smoking. I’m sure they have the clientele to support that. Too bad, it’s close to my house and it’s decent food but I can’t go back.

Came here on a whim after our Airbnb host suggested this place. Wow. Barbacoa tacos, Al pastor torta, breakfast tacos and chorizo plate was AMAZING! Salsa was pretty good too. Get the green sauce! This place definitely did not disappoint. Coming here 3 days in a row should say a lot if you're wondering how good this place is. Customer service is also super friendly.

Always fast, always delicious! Combo plate #2 (2 enchiladas, crispy taco, quacamole, rice & beans) with beef is our go-to. Crispiest taco shells and chips ever. Had half of my enchiladas left, which are my favorite leftovers to mix in some scrambled eggs. Friendly staff, quick service, great food. Can't beat that, especially not for under $9 a plate!
