I've been to the Eastgate location before, but this is my first visit to the Amelia location. The railing coming up the ramp is in poor repair, be careful. There is no drive thru at this location. I typically go in anyway, but it might matter to some. The last manning the shop was very nice and helpful, she did advise me that it is cheaper to order a half a dozen doughnuts vs the four doughnuts I came in to purchase. It was about 09:00 on a Thursday and they only had four sheets of doughnuts in the case. There were about a half a dozen varieties to choose from. I don't know if I was just too late, or if the offerings at this location are simply just less than Eastgate. I do know they likely have additional stock in the back, and they had what I was looking for so I didn't do any fact finding... ;). Their Cronuts are very good. The Kettle cooked doughnuts are equally amazing but different. They did have a few seasonal, lemon, raspberry, puff filled. I grabbed a few of the 🍋 filled, they were delicious. Oh, if you have never been... These are not your average doughnuts. Some are large, some are heavy, some are both. I'm a big guy and one doughnut is plenty unless I'm starving. They do the "baker's dozen" thing if you get a dozen. Unless you're just stopping in for a doughnut or two, it's a better deal to get a half dozen(6), or a full dozen(13). Also keep in mind, these are clean fresh baked goods. They are not going to be good in three days... In fact, tomorrow is pushing...

Variety and trying new things can be good, but don't change daily. I don't want to try a new donut that you'll never carry again. People are creatures of habit, random is negative. McDonalds sells the worse burger in the world yet they succeed, because their customers know they are getting a consistently bad burger. No suprises, and what they want is usually there. The last 4 times I stopped here I had to get something I didn't like, but today I left empty handed. How can you not have anything with white cream filling? Every donut shop in the country has that today except you. Because you went with a vanilla cream. I probably would have liked it, but if I did you'd never have it again so I don't want to know what it tastes like. You know, like your blueberry pie filling that is amazing but has never returned. I've stopped 3 times looking for that. Maybe you should post a picture of your case every day, then we will know if it's worth stopping or not. Imagine if I stopped at KFC for chicken and they told me, sorry we have amazing fish only today. Or imagine stopping at taco bell to find they rolled out of bed with the idea of being a soup company for the day. Moving forward I'm stopping where I know what I'm...
Read moreWhen calling in the order, we were quoted the "happy hour price" by 3 employees at 2 different times, for a 1 year old's birthday party. 30 minutes before the party (during "happy hour") the owner refused to honor the quoted price (the Happy Hour Price).
We explained that 3 employees at two different times quoted us the walk in price. The very, very rude owner said she wouldn't honor the price, "I could go elsewhere if I didn't like that". She went on to say she had fired the employees that quoted the walk in price!! Fired!! (Thank you for that personal information, I'm sure her ex-employees appreciate knowing she's telling random customers that she "the owner" fired them!)
I told her I would be sharing my experience at her establishment and she said, "I sell donuts, I don't care" WOW what a way to treat your customers!! But hey she's the "owner"...... I guess that gives her the right to treat people as if they were her underlings!
So to save the baby's first birthday, I stood there and picked out 3 dozen donuts, plus 3 (bakers dozen) and paid the "happy Hour" price I'd been fighting for..... I suppose after I left she simply placed my original order in the case and sold them at the happy hour walk in price.... makes perfect sense....
What a rude nasty experience ....... Think I'll stick with Servatii's and Dunkin, they know how to treat...
