Murphy’s Grill — Restaurant in Batesburg-Leesville

Came in on a slow night with my parents and kids. Waitress was nice and got our drinks quickly and we ordered some apps. 10 minutes after that she comes back to let us know they're out of cheese sticks, which happens. Still had to wait another 10 minutes before we got our other appetizer. Then about 20 minutes after we ordered our dinner she comes to let us know they're out of mac n cheese for the kids. We order different food but no word at that point on the other food we ordered. The table next to us that came in after we did now gets their food. Another 20 minutes (we have been there about an hour) we still don't have our food and she comes to tell us they just put the kids grilled cheese on the grill. Another table who came in after the other table now gets their food. About 5 minutes after that we finally get our food and the kids are missing their side, they got my moms order wrong, and they added an extra side we didn't order and tried to charge us for it. It's been over an hour and the only good thing I can say about the food is that the wings are big but they had little to no sauce on them. Our nice waitress seemed apathetic about our wait and the issues we had. They took off our bill the food we didn't want but made it seemed like it was a burden. Not sure if ever...

I went on THURSDAY, and karaoke 🎤 was TERRIBLE 😕 the DJ was TERRIBLE. They had great singers, but the DJ didn't have the sound system set up correctly, The DJ on Thursday night's should come out on Monday night and see how a real DJ does karaoke 🎤 The DJ on MONDAY NIGHT is AMAZING 👏 😀 When we arrived, we sat at our table for 15 minutes and had no service. We had to find the waitresses for our section. The food was okay. I've had better on Monday nights. Everything was overcooked. The sweet potato fries were cooked so hard I couldn't hardly eat them. Sloppy Joe wasn't very good. The owner was at the bar with his wife and did nothing to help the DJ with his terrible train wreck of a show. The owner didn't talk to the customers. People who came out were very friendly. Your Monday night karaoke 🎤 regular singers who follow the DJ on MONDAY NIGHTS. You have an AMAZING MONDAY NIGHT DJ. She's a very good DJ. Her karaoke 🎤 singers follow her because she's that good. You need her on Thursday as well, because your current Thursday...

They recently remodeled this location to allow for more seating, and a much better venue to watch the live local music. They did an outstanding job. Has a much more wide open feel and not quite so closed in. Plenty of spacing between the tables with a large area for the band at the end of the room. If you’re just there for the food at the other end of the restaurant, they have a spacious bar, a pool table and plenty of space to just hang out with friends. Due to the remodeling, we found no issues in getting a table and were promptly greeted by a very friendly server, who was exceedingly attentive. She did an amazing job and the food was quite tasty. It is what you would expect from your typical bar or pub, but still very good. Whether you’re new to Highway 378 or have been there in the past, definitely give them another shot.
