Here's a place you never know what you're walking into. One day the youth is welcome the next they are riffraff and looked down upon. We owned it for roughly ten years and everyone was treated like Cheers would treat them everyday Everytime. Since, one owner ran off the younger folks to keep it an elderly yawn. This stuck for years until she sold it to an unknown buyer who had a couple run it as if it were theirs and they had excellent food. They would BBQ brisket and fun Hawaiian style dishes, they would interact with all their customers. The environment was small town welcoming. It sold again to another who stated, right after purchasing the bar/restaurant , that they were going to ruin of all the' local riffraff '. Well a few locals over heard this and black listed the landing restaurant. They didn't step back in there until the day their merchandise,"local riffraff"hats, shirts, beer cozies etc showed up, them they all went back in wearing it and sporting it of course. This must have giving a sorta feeling to the owner knowing she had said this months ago and maybe on this day regretted saying it allowed, it at all I would think. A new owner now. This owner bought 3 other places, completely different styles, atmosphere, food, regulars etc. bought them all and hired on their own brand new crews. Great idea, right?!? All running established regular on going businesses that worked, all now new people, new menus to match one another and brand new cooks to learn from scratch the ways they want it all cooked served and delivered. Seems difficult to us realists, who's going to train three cooks in three different locations(farther away than desired I'm sure) and be ready to start the same day. They all opened clueless, good was nothing like the other places, sizes were unpredictable from hour to hour food tasted completely like it should, not at all the same. This was a mess and for obvious reasons. But I won't be the, point out the obvious, guy. I don't even know if the owner now knows their the owner any more I've lost track. Karaoke night is fantastic its like number four in the county. So for your local 'locals at best' gotta try the landing restaurant in Bay City on your vacation. It's close to the amusement park and zoo...

tl;dr - didn't have a good experience.

Our group (of five) came in for dinner. We chose this place based on reviews, and I suspect the rating might be inaccurate compared to our experience.

I don't remember the beer I ordered, but it came to me warm. Maybe it came freshly produced from a beer cow? I don't know. My girlfriend also ordered a drink, but it did not appear until after her plate arrived, which also took a while to appear...as did the rest of our plates. -_-

I ordered the fried clams, and didn't really taste clams. The fries were decent though. I think maybe they forgot to change the oil that day, or used very cheap oil. The breading on the clams tasted bitter and stale, plus the texture bit at my palate like sharp Doritos.

Our group was optimistic and I guess we kind of fooled ourselves that we had a good experience. When we got to talking later, we kind of picked apart our experience. The service was slow, the food was poor quality, and the prices were unreasonable. My opinion was solidified with an attack of indigestion later that night. ....no not typical heartburn, which I am not prone to. This was what I imagine drinking the contents of a ten year old lead acid battery must feel like. Anyway, luckily we had delicious ice cream to calm the fury of my stomach.

P.S. Please be honest in your reviews of any place, especially this one. Your review could save someone a lot of time.

Hope I didn't violate any terms...

I am updating my review from five months ago. They have since changed employees and the bartender was very rude. The bartender was busy. I walked around and checkout the pool tables and the establishment and when the bartender wasn't so busy I asked for the password for wifi she rudely responded saying it for the business only. I told my friend they didn't have internet for the customers and she was listening and snapped and said wifi was for the business Only and that's what i told my friend. My friend kindly asked about the library and wifi she didn't know anything about anything and she made it very clear that she just works there and thats it. My friend commented and said you must not be from the area and urged me to go elsewhere and she proceeded to chase us out the door saying if you are going talk shit about me.... I turned around and said I was confused what's going on I was upset. We went in there to spend time playing pool, video poker, eat and have a cocktail and spend money and she literally chased us off cursing at us. We will never go in...

It is August 13 at 6:45 and we just left this place. I didn’t get their names - the host was this blonde, blue eyed, a little older woman and the cook was a young white male, who was wearing a hat. Anyways, we were treated so well when we visited and it is our first time. We camp at Barview every year, but today we decided to just go fishing for the day since it’s super hot in Portland. The food was delicious and as I’ve said, we were treated so well. It was myself, my husband and our 2 young children. We will be back, thanks for the great food and service guys. See you next time.

Never got the chance to eat here so food may be fabulous but the doors were locked when we got there. The large banner out front states that they are open 7 days a week 8am but there was a sign that had fallen off their door that said closed 6/2 I’m assuming they meant 7/2 since it is July now or they just don’t care about cleaning up fallen signs from a month ago. So disappointed because their menu looked great. This has been our second time trying to come here only to find them closed during stated business hours, not going to try a third time.
