Papa Dough's Bay City Tavern — Restaurant in Bay Springs

We came in as a family of 6 tonight to eat. We Drive past this place pretty often and were excited to eat here. We waited for a table for 45 mins - The wait wasn’t an issue but once we were seated we began having issues. We got 2 appetizers which luckily came out pretty quickly and we ordered a few 10” pizzas and a salad. Our server wasn’t great honestly and we waited 45 min- an hr for our food before asking our server what the deal was. When we asked how much longer it would be (we had a kid with us) she said they were “backed up” in the kitchen… we were one of two tables who did not have food in the establishment and they really were not busy it was 645. In addition to that a table larger than us that came in like 15 mins after us got their food. we just let them know we were walking out. Very disappointed as their menu looked amazing. I seldom visit Bay Springs but the local First Baptist Church was hosting a gospel group “Anthem Edition” so I was ready for something good after a long day at the schoolhouse. I ordered a calzone and Pepsi w/ a lemon slice- I learned to drink mine this way in London, it add a little something extra. The calzone was great with tomato sauce or garlic sauce. The service was great and the food was fabulous! We had the cheese bread, Carny pizza and the chicken, bacon ranch pizza. We ordered all of that so we'd have plenty to take home and we weren't disappointed. Every bite was better than the last.
