Catalina Ice Cream Shop — Restaurant in Bayou La Batre

I love Catalina Ice cream but just not today, I was craving for banana split and decided to drive there before they close today, we saw there was a party going on, the cashier was open for walk in customers, the girl took my order and I noticed they were distracted while preparing for my order, she handed to me the banana split without the banana in it and I told her, she said sorry and she sliced the banana and just put it on top that all the cherry sauce and ice cream were overflowing. The cherry on top even fell but she just tried to avoid not looking at me after giving it, the whip cream was falling too we left with the overflowing ice cream and sauce on our hands, it was very messy. We just surround it with tissue paper to prevent from spilling more in the car. Just not happy with it as she was not even feeling sorrry at all.

I tried to understand that the employees are teenagers but I just hope they get trained with...

We had a great little trip here. We are out not locals we were just driving around the town to look around. We stopped here to enjoy some ice cream, which we got, it is Hershey’s hard ice cream which is great and we noticed they also sold beignets which we ended up getting an order then another order. While the ice cream was good, the beignets were so delicious, melt in your mouth. If time permits driving down I10 again we would stop again. Service was great, it was a fun family atmosphere. There is a steak and seafood restaurant on the other side of the building that smelled amazing, we will try...

Was really disappointed by this place because we didn't feel it matched precious reviews.

Everything needed a good scrub, and the counters were disorganized and messy (it was not busy).

The ice cream was just okay, not smooth and tasted over frozen. I ordered a hot fudge sundae, which came in a small Styrofoam bowl. They couldn't get the hot fudge to come out, so they just gave me chocolate syrup. Basic whip cream from a can. Limited cone options for the kids.

I would expect an "ice cream parlor" to have more options, better ice cream, and better...
