I hate that I'm even leaving this review because we used to love this place, and the food used to be amazing and worth the price. Tonight that changed, we got there at 7:19pm they had maybe 3 table and two in the back plus us (8). They were not packed at all or horrible rushed. I waited 30 mins for my 2nd refill, which we had to ask for. Everyone walked by us 8x not once asked if we needed anything. I counted this, including the drunken owner . We ordered the grab cakes, they used to be the size of a small coffee can, and now they are probably the size of the bottom of a soda. we paid almost 30 dollars for them. The seafood is overpriced, especially for where it is located. We just came back from Kentucky, we went to a seafood place there our plates had a combo of seafood and filled to the top 4x more that catalina for 3 plates we paid maybe 80 buck that with tip and drinks and appetizers and we chose Catalina which is always our go to, we wanted our seafood fill saddly that didn't happen. The owner chose to escalate the situation instead of being a restaurant owner and being an adult and trying to fix the situation! When the waitress came with the bill, she asked my ole manif everything was okay. He replied no and that we wouldn't be back all he said nothing more or less. Wasn't loud or rude about it, and he left it at that. We went to ring out, and here came the owner with her claws out. Told us to get out, take our ass else where they didn't need us go somewhere that we had to wait in line, and the list went on. Let's not forget her famous last words at we were at the cash register "no reason for you to cause a scene, you're just drunk and don't want to pay(pot calling the kettle black)" only one of us drank that person had 2 beers only b/c that's all he could get no refills were ever offered and it's takes waaay more than just two beers ! We were at the register paying the bill handing the sweetest lady there our card (she should run the place, and they should keep sassy Sally on the leash back there in the back declawed). My family has been going there since the owner mom owned it, and we have spent $1000 there, if not more. I never met the owner till tonight, and I am not impressed how she held herself as a business owner. The flounder was AMAZING, tho I will say that, and the waitresses there are sweet. Why did the owner cause a stink like she did? i'm not sure when we were discrete about the situation and was going to keep it that till she escalated it. I hate that it came to this. They used to have the best...
Read moreGreat service. Great food. Great people. Our family of 4 made our first Dauphin Island vacation this year and after seeing several recommendations of some "locals" we decided for our last night we would take the short drive and give Catalina a shot. We are all glad we did.
The service was outstanding all night. The owner came by to visit, ask us where we were from and we discussed this being our first time to the area. Every single person we encountered was welcoming and friendly. Just a great, great experience.
Crab claws were oustanding. Gumbo was outstanding and they bring you Tabasco without being asked. My wife and girls are not seafood eaters. WIfe had hamburger steak (great), daughter #1 had cheeseburger (great), daughter #2 had chicken (great) and I had the seafood platter (perfect). More food than we could eat and for all that we ordered, I think the price was more than reasonable.
We will be back again and again. Working hard to serve your customers is a lost art and one that should be rewarded. These fine people do it the right way. I wish I could...

Six of us went for dinner and all of us either had the baked whole stuffed flounder or the royal red shrimp. The seafood is local and fresh. Portions are large (I only ate half my flounder) and exactly what I think of when I'm thinking of Gulf seafood.
The service is attentive, super friendly and fun.
My baked flounder was cooked perfectly, buttery without being greasy and the crab stuffing was rich and moist. Again, way more than I could eat.
The royal red shrimp that my wife had tasted more like perfectly steamed Maine and didn't need the melted butter that they were served with. Highly recommended.
Even the hush puppies were the best. Just the right amount of onion and not doughy or greasy.
Prices are good considering the super high quality of the ingredients and the expert preparation. The bill for the two of us (including two beers each) was well under $100.
We are going to be in the area for a few more weeks and a return trip is...
