The Tap House — Restaurant in Beacon Falls

We absolutely love this place! We have been twice. The second time was this week with my sister (visiting from England). They were very busy but got us seated fairly quickly. The manager asked if we were from England. We then realized that once we were seated, they were playing British hits over the speakers. It was such an awesome touch for us! The food was incredible. The cheese dip with the pretzel sticks is amazing. My sister thoroughly enjoyed the short rib grilled cheese, and the fish (fish and chips) was as close to home as we've gotten over here. I had the portobello wrap, which was delicious. They make a very yummy kids pudding as well, which our daughter loved. We will be back in the near future. I'm so glad this place is a part of our town ❤️

Had to update: we just went back, and yet again we had a wonderful experience! I asked for a French 75 and our server made one of the best ones I've had! She tried a new gin, The Gardener, and it was really good. The food was so delicious. My husband had the hot chicken sandwich, which he said had just the right amount of spice and the chicken was very juicy. My sister had the BBQ short rib sandwich, which she loved. I have to say I thought this restaurant would be a great addition to the town, however I am starting to rethink that having been charged $2 EXTRA for ICE for a bourbon on the rocks. Wait, it gets better - next time in I ordered a bourbon neat and was again charged an EXTRA $2 for getting it neat! Yes it was listed on the bill as a $2 charge for bourbon neat! I was like what the 😣. So either way I am either going to get charged for ice or no ice? Don't know why a new restaurant in a small town is charging like they are in Fairfield County - good luck with that! Wonder if this charge is across the board for everyone? Was excited to try a new place. The pretzel sticks and queso were very good . However my main course : a chicken BLT and pub chips was a complete disappointment. For $16.99 It came with a very small piece of chicken which was dry and unseasoned. The sandwich was cut in half and one side had about 2 oz of chicken , but the other side had less than 1oz. On top of all that the “chips” were kind of burnt and had no flavor . I really couldn’t understand why the price was so high for what actually was about 2-3$ worth of food .
