I was so excited to eat here. I had gotten other recommendations, but I chose 1911 because of their farm to table, seasonal menu. I always try to support local, fresh foods when I can. I had already scoped out the menu and knew what I wanted. I didnt eat lunch so that the food would taste even better when it came. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms and the hangar steak, med. rare. I just had water amd let the waitress know I was probably a little dehydrated, so I just wanted to stick with water. My glass never got refilled. The waitress brought out bread, which was tasty. No complaints there. Then, the stuffed mushrooms. They were okay. Not very flavorful, but the balsamic on the greens helped. As soon as I was done with the mushrooms, my main course came out. I was a little confused because it didnt have any soubise sauce that I could see, but I went ahead and started eating because the waitress wasnt around anywhere and I was starving. As I took a bite of the potatoes, I was pretty disappointed because there was not nearly enough of any seasoning. I had to salt them pretty well and I hate to salt food. Then, I took a bite of steak and was severely disappointed. It also did not have much, if any, seasoning. Im all for letting the flavor of the meat shine through, but you at least have to salt it to enhance the flavors of the meat and to make it enjoyable to eat. I kept looking for onions of any kind when I finally found a clump of sautéed onions on the bottom of the steak. No sauce, just onions. I was so let down. I didnt really see my server again until I asked for the check. When she brought the check, I asked her if the chef was the normal person in the kitchen or if maybe someone else was having to cook. Or maybe my 5:30 reservation was too early for them to have finished the soubise sauce and so he just put the onions on there instead. Both of those explanations would have been understandable and I could have just chalked it up to a bad night. However, the server said it was the normal chef and when she asked him about it, he said it was probably just thicker than I was used to. I laughed out loud because I am also a chef and I know what a soubise sauce is. There was none on my plate, and nothing was properly seasoned. Im not saying any of this to piss people off, but it was not worth what I paid to have to season my own food. I will say, the seasonal, local mushrooms were really good. This was the most mid meal I've had in quite some time that was supposed to be nice. I didnt ask for a discount or anything because I dont believe in doing that. They didn't offer, either, which is totally fine. Hopefully, it was just...

I don't want to absolutely dog in this place, but the reviews are out of whack, or we had a one off encounter with okay food, and a so-so server.
Rating this place 5 stars, using words like quaint is laughable. Even on its best day.
I ordered "osso bucco" my favorite dish and it was by far the worst, off-tasting version I've ever had.. it's was quite disappointing that my giant potato cake was the only appetizing thing on the plate. Wife ordered a ribeye, although presented poorly she said it was pretty good flavor in all fairness. Our desert was great, but it's hard to mess up a scoop of kilwins ice cream.
Break out your polo, knot a swearer around your neck, and get ready to judge LGBTQ, and any non white race here. Although it's open to public Bayview is a all but a retirement community for the purist of religious people at face value. So the dining room is filled with judgment, musty smells, & old school classic ( but not tasteful) decor.
We are a professional couple in our 30's and have dined in some very fine places & very cozy back road dives too, and couldn't help but laugh our whole date here.
Dishes sound great, but presented, served, and at least for me taste like nursing home dishes with quantity over quality at the forefront.
So so so NOT romantic, not intimate, and if you understand the definition of "quaint" it's not that either. The surroundings look quaint but the community and demeanor here ruins it all. Unless your ready to be "saved" or " born again" lol.
In all honesty I think I'll try again, dressed like I'm headed to church and praying the chef gets it right, and ready to have another evening filled with private puns, movie quotes from the stuckest of stuck up, and comedic entertainment from a whole nother world.
So it does have that circus show...
Read moreWhen we arrived at the Terrace Inn we were excited to see the beautiful choices on the menus. We decided right then that we were going for the Kobe beef dinner offering for our dinner. It was more delicious then what we were dreaming of all day. Eating in the dining room was very special, a real 5 star experience. It was a beautiful room, there was an opportunity to dine on the Terrace, but we chose the indoor option. All the food was super and we were served by well trained personnel that were very friendly and described the servings well as we decided what we would have. The meal was brought to us at a perfect pace to enjoy our food. If in that area again, even if I wasn't staying overnight I would hope to eat in this very special dining room. It is in whole a peaceful, and...
