Stopped here after a long day up in the mountains and was pleasantly surprised.
Very clean parking lot and entryway, was greeted and sat immediately. We were brought water right away and asked if we wanted anything else to drink. I noticed they had some nice beers on display but had to make the drive home, so I stuck with water.
The menu isn't huge but has enough variety that I'm sure anyone could find SOMETHING that appeals to them. For me it was the Mexican White Shrimp and Salmon Steak with baby red mash and grilled asparagus.
Much to my delight, I was brought a piece of cornbread because they were out of dinner rolls - I would take cornbread over a dinner roll every day of the week! And it was awesome! Moist on the inside with a light, crisp outer layer.
The salad was cool and fresh and included egg, & cherry tomatoes, and their ranch dressing tasted home made.
When my food came, I was astounded. The eye appeal was spot-on. Height, shape, color, balance flavor and texture, just like I learned in culinary school decades ago.
The salmon and shrimp were cooked and seasoned to perfection, the baby red mash was well seasoned, the asparagus was grilled perfectly and the cream sauce was a great compliment to the entire dish.
If you find yourself near the Timberline, don't miss this, I'll definitely be back to try other dinner menu items as well as what I saw of...
Read moreServer was very nice. Tried her best. We had a group of 10, with six separate bill needed, so that is never easy for a server. It was not particularly busy, and she was relatively young, perhaps new to being a server, but Very genuine and helpful. Food was Delicious, a Little on the High end for a Wonderful Sandwich with Great (hearty- sized fries OR delicious Cole Slaw) and if you add a Soda, you're just under $20 for lunch,- not counting tax and tip. I haven't been out for such a lunch in a Long time, so I'm not sure how the price truly compares, but I would go back again and again, if I could afford such high end sandwiches. (My waistline can not afford going there every day either!) But was happy to pay for an occasional lunch, or treat a friend on a birthday, etc. I think it would be a nice, impressive spot for that. This was just their Breakfast/Lunch menu that I saw. Woman next to me ordered an omelet, it looked wonderful! I would...
Read moreWe decided to stop here during our trip back home. It was next to a gas station we pulled up to so we went in for some food as our kids were hungry. The atmosphere of the restaurant kind of reminded us of Denny's in a way which was unexpected but no big deal. The menu options were interesting and definitely a bit out of the norm with the flavors/toppings etc so it was difficult to decide on what to order. We are normally easy going when ordering, but because almost everything had something we didn't like or didn't sound appealing it made it hard to choose. We ended up getting a PB&J kids meal, a hamburger, a grilled ham and cheese, and a monte cristo sandwich. The PB&J was fine but not worth the price. The hamburger was alright but a little dry. The monte cristo was VERY greasy and oil just oozed out of it when you took a bite which made me lose my appetite very quickly. The only item we liked was the grilled ham and cheese. Overall, we...
