We got food to go. Website said it would be ready by 5. I came a little earlier and it was ready by 5 on the dot so timing was perfect.
We ordered the bull dog bites, duck wontons, walleye sandwich (parmesean crusted) w/ sweet potato fries, and the Haystack Burger w/ onion rings.
Total came out to about $66 which I would say is reasonable and portions were good. Appetizers were a little smaller portions then expected given the price tag. But the entries and sides were really good portion size.
The haystack burger was absolutely delicious, not gonna lie one of the better burgers I've had in a while. That Bernaise sauce on top really tied everything together and who doesn't like a fried egg on a burger.
The onion rings were really good as well. Seem to be handbreaded in house.
The appetizers were wonderful We really enjoyed both of them and you can tell these are made in house as well. Very tasty.
The only thing that we'd say could use some work is the walleye sandwich. Don't get me wrong, you are getting a HUGE walleye filled and it tasted great, lettuce and tomato fresh and bun was nice everything held together well. We just felt the sandwich was a little bland compared to all the items. Suggestion; either more seasoning on the fish or honestly some kind of sauce to tie it all together.
Aldo my wife liked the sweet potato fries but they were a bit on the soggy side, could be more crispy.
Otherwise all the food was delicious and tasted great, if you are hungry in Becker MN don't fade this place. The best food in Becker coming from a local who's tried the other establishments.
Very enjoyable highly recommend go eat here you won't be...
Read moreMy wife and I went there on Labor Day, so that my have affected the amount of staff working but our waitress gave us very poor service. She got our drink order, when she came back with them we were ready to order so she took that. Next time we saw her was when our food was ready, she didn't come out after taking our order to check on our drinks. Once we were done eating, 15 minutes passed before I got fed up and went to the bartender to try and pay, to which she had to go back in the kitchen to find her. Then it took another 10 minutes to pay and have her come back with change. Again, I understand they may have been short staffed due to the holiday, but an acknowledgement of our waiting would have gone a long way. My wife and I are very patient people as long as we're receiving good communication, but when there is no communication, and we don't feel important as patrons, it leaves a sour taste in our mouths and makes it difficult to come back again. We love supporting local businesses, so we are hoping that this was just an off day for the waitress, and a staffing issue due to the holiday and that our next experience will be much...
Read moreAtmosphere got a five because it was outdoors and it was a beautiful afternoon otherwise I don't get five stars for anything. My friend and I both ordered a special which was some kind of odd bacon cheeseburger type situation on a flatbread. Which I thoroughly enjoyed and actually got kind of full-on. Are waitresses probably offended by me calling her a waitress instead of a I don't like the word server. Anyways she had an attractive smile and a nice Witt about her and she was right there any time we needed anything. I like that little section of town because it's got like an old western E-Type feel. . I definitely eat there again. I'm not going to say how much I spent because I think that's rude and inappropriate. Whether I spent $5 or $50 I know I would have been...
