I had to edit my review. The quality of food here has really gone down hill. I am disappointed. I want this place to be successful so we can enjoy Mexican food on occasion. Let me start off by saying the first few times we went here were great. The food was fresh and well seasoned. A stark contrast to my last few experiences. A few months ago my wife and I dined here. I had the fajita salad. The salad shell was soaked, my salad was runny with liquid and grease. My wife also made a comment about her meal stating it was "off". I still ate it but was not sure I would come back after that. I don't like to complain, I will just choose to go elsewhere. Last week I tried it again. This time after lunch hour. It was not busy, the cook was not rushed. The meal should have been perfect. I ordered the Monterrey Fajitas. Shortly after I placed my order I heard the sound of food being dropped into a deep fryer. I thought that was odd as I did not order anything deep fried. Well, the pork fajitas came out and I was shocked to see that the cook deep fried the whole thing. The tomatoes, the peppers, the onions, and the meat were all deep fried together! I could tell from the bubbling on the outside of the peppers and the meat was crunchy on the thin stringy ends. The bottom of the fajita plate was covered in oil. Nothing was seasoned properly. I ate it anyways as I was coming off of a 24 hour fast and very hungry. Plus, like I said I will just stop going to a restaurant if it sucks instead of complaining to the server. I think a lot of people vote with their money in that regard. I am sorry but when you charge $14 for a meal I expect quality fresh ingredients and a cook who cares. I can drive to Big Lake and go to El Loro restaurant and get a higher quality meal for less. That being said, I hope the owner/manager of the restaurant does not take offense to my post but sees it as an opportunity to improve. I will give it another shot if they change their ways and edit my review accordingly. I really hope they can turn it around and wish them the best, but until then I will keep going to the Hideout to eat locally or drive to Big Lake if I am...
Read moreIf they stretched the beans and guac with any more water, they would have been serving me soup. Everything was old and seemed to be microwaved and the only item that arrived hot was my plate. I'm hoping to shake off this sick feeling in my stomach but after a half hour, I'm beginning to lose hope that this won't end violently in the bathroom.
It's pretty sad when they can't get even the chips and salsa right. The chips were stale and the salsa may have just been watered-down marinara with a little black pepper added. Since we're on the subject of Italian food, I must say that I was surprised by the addition of mozzarella to my beans.
I almost forgot to mention the men's bathroom, where a half-full garbage bag hangs in front of the busted urinal and the TP was previously dropped in the toilet and left to dry on top of the tank.
If you're looking for food near Becker, my best advice is to just keep driving or at least go to a more upscale joint...
Read moreWe had been coming here since they first opened. The servers are always friendly and prompt!
But we had been busy over the last couple of mo tha and decided to go in for a date night. The gal that had been serving us looked extremely board with her job.. and when she would come over to check on us, she would leave and go sit in a corner booth.. she sat on her phone and at one point during our dinner, she was asleep!! I had been in the food service industry, and I know there is tons of things to do during down time.. dirty dishes left on tables.. garbage on the floor.. not even busy.. maybe 5 people in the building.
The food seems to be going down hill as well.. use to be hot and amazing! Now hardly warm.. and not as desirable..
I really hope things change.. I love Mexican so...
