Rebecca’s is a locally owned and operated restaurant in Becker. It is visible and easily accessible from highway 10. We had a 5-10 minute wait on Sunday at 9:30am. Some parties had reservations. The restaurant had pleasant decor. We were seated in a booth by the owner. She placed a small lamp on the table and asked us if the booth was ok. The lamp was a nice touch. It added ambiance, but was functional for reading the menu. The menu and pricing in the restaurant were consistent with the website. There are more varieties of Eggs Benedict than we had ever seen before! There were also lots of skillet scrambles to choose from along with traditional plates. It seems their speciality is a swirled rye bread. It was very good. There is a case with pasties for purchase, which included beignets. Our server was Reese. She was very friendly and personable and even though the restaurant was packed, she was very attentive. Note: the mugs are clear - which is a clever touch. This allows the server to more easily see if a refill is needed. The single-stall restroom was spacious, neat and clean and pleasantly decorated. A reflection of the cleanliness and pride the owner takes in her work. We look forward to visiting again soon! Pictured is the Mexican skillet and the...
Read moreToday I placed a pick up order and trying to give it another shot being that last time I place my order they messed up and forgot to add and item I was charge for but they rectified it and other than that the overall experience was okay. Anyway back to today, I placed the order and who ever took it sounded a bit frustrated soon as they answered the call and just wasn’t the best experience from the start especially since you are the first person the customer speaks to which means you are the one to leave an impression and also represent the merchant. The sandwich I ordered had the incorrect meat on it so I called to let them know and when I did the same person who took the order answered and said oh well I thought you said leave the bacon and takeout the sausage. I than clarified no it was the opposite and instead of trying to rectify it and saying sorry bring it back so we can remake it was just a dead sorry that did not feel sincere and did not offer to remake it. Although the food is usually pretty decent and that’s the reason why I still gave three stars the experience far as in the customer service...
Read moreI rate a lot of restaurants and you have to grade "on a curve." I've eaten in James Beard award winning restaurants and in places like a tiny fine dining restaurant tucked in the alleys of Venice Italy. Rebecca's isn't that. It is a place in a small central Minnesota town that serves hearty diner comfort food breakfasts. But they are the best for miles around. And it is good, hearty Midwestern food. The soups are homemade, not out of can. It's cooked fresh and it is "like mom used to make."
If I graded everything on the same scale, sure, it might be lower. But scored on what it is trying to be and how well it hits it, this is as good as it gets.
And the staff is as good, helpful, and friendly as any in the world. That isn't on a curve. They are 5 star by any standard.
Hits what it aims for:...
