If you've ever been to Mexico and eaten someplace other than a resort, you'll get an idea what authentic Mexican food is. Plenty of chicken, eggs, various ground meat, tortillas, etc. But there's a brand of homemade to it of course, in the quality and presentation.
I see that come through at Tampico. The dishes are Americanized, yes. But they're done well and some of the stewed or simmered meat dishes like carnitas are especially yummy and remind me of time in Jalisco.
And yes, the margaritas can be purchased in XL.
Service is quick and nimble. And they've done the best you can do with a main street building that is 10x deeper than it is wide.
I award five star reviews sparingly, but I think they deserve it... Arguably among the best Mexican restaurants I've dined in across the country.
