A dinner / restaurant that has been in the area for decades. Great for a breakfast and lunch in my opinion. My recent visit was on a Sunday morning around 10am. I had a veggie omelette that I let the waitress randomly select for me. My reason I rated 3 stars: I observed two waitresses doing 90% of the work and maybe 2-3 “helpers.” This caused people to wait a long time to pay their check or place an order because the “helpers” would just walk by to get other customers refills or clear plates. If more employees could operate the register, service would be so much faster. I observed numerous times other customers request a check so they could leave and they would say, “I’ll get your waitress.” Maybe this works with less customers but when the place is swinging full force, you need better allocation of resources. The two waitresses that were working were doing excellent and it’s doesn’t seem fair they had to combat that much. I included a few photos of my visit.

Cool, old school baseball themed diner. Came here with my grandmother on the way back from DC to PA. Was a much welcome sight. I liked their menu and enjoyed trying their liver & onion. My grandmother had their surf and turf, a crab cake and Hamburg steak. However, the steak was over cooked to well done despite the medium rare request. The rest of the meal was enjoyable. Vegetable sides dishes were a bit over cooked and slightly bland. Fries were extremely on point. All said and done would recommend coming for for a quick bite while passing through.

This is a quaint location, a few minutes from the Conowingo Dam. I was there to shoot eagles! PHOTOS! Shoot photos of eagles, in their yearly November thru December treks through the region.

Ballpark Restaurant - The decor is (surprise!) Baltimore Orioles baseball themed, heavy on the Cal, with a pinch of Colts thrown in. It appeared to be extremely popular with the locals, even on a midweek lunchtime visit.

The prices are very reasonable, with a decent and varied selection available on the menu. The Cream of Crab Soup was very good, and contained a healthy dollop of crabmeat (as opposed to just having a crab scurry through it 😉)

BUT... the hamburger was ordered "medium rare", and arrived "well done" - and that always ticks me off, no matter where I eat - automatically resulting in the loss of a star. If I had had time, I would have sent it back. Our order came out in surprisingly short time, which may account for the DOA burger.

Regardless, if I'm in the area again, I'd...

If I could leave a zero I would. The place is filthy. They had used napkins left on the floor and one of the chairs at our table when we were seated. Every decor surface looks as if has not been dusted since they opened. The men's room door was brown despite being painted white. The salad my son received was old and the rest of the food was just warmed up freezer items from a grocery store. No special skill or care was put into anything. The hostess who was our make shift waitress until our real one showed up was about as useful as using a rock as a life vest. Our actual waitress was nice and knew her stuff. However that didn't make up for the flaming disaster that was the rest of the place. Surprisingly to me none of my party became ill after eating here but we won't risk it again. I spent time waiting to write this review to cool off and try to remember a redeeming feature, but sadly I have nothing to offer except we left...
