Nice restaurant, great service. I'm not a fan of seafood nor is my girlfriend, so I ordered the Rigatoni Vodka, which was spicy and extremely tasty (the chorizo was my favorite part). My girlfriend ordered the Chicken and Waffles. And here's my problem: there was sriracha aioli drizzled on it. Our server, who was awesome, said it was written on the menu, and while I cannot deny this, since I didn't have a menu in my hand when our entrees were served, the online menu doesn't mention this at all (we reviewed the menu online before going since we both don't like seafood). My girlfriend had also noticed the sriracha aioli on other menu items and swore it was not mentioned when she looked over the menu.
I understand that some people like to put hot sauce on their chicken and waffles, but I imagine a lot of people don't, and she had never had it with it, and did not want it. She didn't like the taste of it at all. I personally think it just over-complicates the flavor, but what I can't understand is why it wouldn't just be served on the side, so that those who want it can have it and those who don't can leave it. She ended up getting it replaced with Rigatoni Vodka, which came out extremely quickly, and we boxed up the chicken and waffles and took it home with the other leftovers.
My brother had taken our family out to dinner as a Christmas present for all of us and had to pay for an extra entree because of this mistake. I'm fairly sure it's not written on the paper menus and I still maintain that the sriracha aioli should be served on the side regardless. For what it's worth, the chicken is damn good, the waffles are tasty, and the bacon is amazing. And I'll end up eating it since she doesn't like it. But adding hot sauce to a sweet and savory dish is kind of a big surprise, and she felt bad for not liking the dish and having to order something else. I strongly suggest fixing the menu, or better yet, just serve it on the side and the problem is solved. From what I tasted, I would have preferred it without it.
Other than that, everyone seemed to enjoy their food very much (she loved the Rigatoni Vodka, too). The servings are huge so I feel you get your money's worth. And again, the service was great. We got seated a few minutes early and everything came out extremely fast and piping hot. From my experience, this is a great restaurant that is worth a visit, probably even more so if you...
Read moreSince my wife and I have been visiting Conrad's, Bel Air for lunch several times this summer we have been impressed with the very friendly and attentive way with how the staff has engaged us and we have been very impressed and pleased with both the quality and quantity of the food that has been provided per our order. We have mostly ordered from the signature sandwiches menu and found our sandwiches to be stuffed ( no skimping on the main ingredient). Today we had shrimp salad and both sandwiches were stuffed. We enjoy eating our lunch there in the eating area as the atmosphere is very relaxing and we enjoy watching the staff interaction with other customers as they come in. As customers we can't ask for anything more than to receive great food and great service ( friendliness, attentiveness, and courtesy) and that is what we have been getting at Conrads, Bel Air. I would like to give a shout out to the young lady who waited on us today. Unfortunately I did not get her name but hopefully you might be able identify her from our transaction with her. She was so friendly and polite. While we were sitting at the table waiting for our order she came walking over with it. I told her that she didn't need to bring it over and could have just called out my name and she said it was no trouble for her at all and she was glad to do it and she was so pleasant about it. I hope you can determine who she was and thank her for us. She represented your business in a Very Good Way !!! We live very close to your Abingdon Restaurant and eat there as well and enjoy the same kind of service but I always like to travel to the Bel Air location probably because it is smaller and to me a little more quaint. Please keep up the Great Work as far as quality and portion of food and Great Customer Service. We Thank You for a great Lunch today and again Thank the Young...
Read moreI called in carryout about 15 minutes before I arrived at the parking lot around 7:15 PM on Wednesday 10/07/2020. I went in and paid and left a tip. They close at 8:30 and everyone was cleaning up. I could see in the kitchen and they were talking and cleaning up. At the time there were 3 cars waiting in the lot. Twenty minutes later we were the only car in the parking lot. Ten minutes later after waiting 30 plus minutes I went in to complain since no one appeared to be doing anything in the kitchen. The cashier went in the back and the order came right out. I said the wait was inexcusable and was told crab cakes take longer and that there were other orders. No one was in the parking lot. When I took the meal out to the car my wife said it was cold. We had to microwave it when we got home. With all the restaurants going out of business service should be emphasized. We've had good food there in the past. They get one more chance before they're off my list.
My wife checked her phone and said you are correct that it was called in at 7:15, but the order did take 45 minutes and we were not told it would take 30 minutes. Your web page says you are open till 8:30. We could see in the kitchen and until I came back in to complain it was just cleanup and talk. The order came up as soon as I came in and complained and it was cold. We ordered 2 crab cakes and three tacos. Like I said there was no one in the parking lot and I was told there were other orders and crab cakes take longer. You can defend all you want but the food and service were poor. That's...
