Kat's Place — Restaurant in Bella Vista

First I would like to say the food was very good. The restaurant was easy to find from the interstate.

But, the atmosphere of a family restaurant it was not. There is no handicap parking. If you are in a wheelchair or even a walker you will have difficulty maneuvering the gravel parking lot with railroad ties around the building to get into the restaurant.

If you are lucky enough to make it into the restaurant, you will be met with cigarette smoke. Once inside the building you are in the smoking section. There is a non-smoking section but unfortunately smoke does drift into this area.

Another thing that I observed while sitting at the table was the film on the salt/pepper/sugar shakers that were sitting on the table. It does not appear they have been clean for a while. Even the display cases displaying Coca-Cola memorabilia and other items were covered with a film. This film I would imagine would be from cigarette smoke.

I will admit to being spoiled coming from a large metropolitan area where the city and county governments has restrictions concerning smoking in restaurants and bars (all non smoking).

Food: Likely one of the top 10 best burgers in 50-100 miles and definitely #1 for price value. They have catfish dinners, chicken fried steaks and daily specials. 🤤

Service: great group of people with promptness and humor. Customers feel like family. Need help getting to know the town? Need a certain type of work/worker? They seem to know everywhere and everyone. Real family values here. Especially Kat, Allie, Carol, and Casey.

Atmosphere: almost a timeless place with cola collections and other diner decor hanging on the walls that reminds you of a cowboy watering hole. Smoking IS allowed. Don’t complain about it 👌 About 15-20 tables and diner stools...

I would give half a star or less if I could. Restaurant was filthy as in dirty and food all over the floor! They make you walk through the smoking section to get to a semi nonsmokers table. Service was rather abrupt and rude. The food was bland and TERRIBLE we was so disappointed as online it looked fantastic!
