Very disappointed they reviews made this seem like an authentic Mexican restaurant well I ordered a fajita nachos with shrimp the only veggie in it was onions and bell peppers sad and the a chili relleno which was like eating cake and finally getting to the small chilli in the middle just cheese no beef which is weird because every other authentic Mexican restaurant I've been to they have a meat and cheese inside and a light egg crust but this one was manly cakey crust and the street corn was just Mayo and a tini amount of cheese very disappointing and my total was $24 something but I was charged 28 something because they added chips and salsa without me knowing which was a bigger disappointment because the salsa is literally just tomatoes blened up no spice no other ingredients just tomatoes i love tomatoes so i can tell the difference I was really disappointed because most of the reviews say it's authentic Mexican food and food but the comments I'm starting to feel was maybe put there by family members or people you don't actually like Mexican food but I was not shown any authentic Mexican food just what people who did not know what they are doing made and it definitely was not worth the price if you want real authentic Mexican food go to micasas on west main you'll get the proper Mexican food that actually is authentic this place killed my hopes and even the teen working the register seemed like he didn't enjoy or want to be there I had high hopes because of the other reviews but I was let down completely by actually going and trying it out it's really shows that just because your a race doesn't mean you know how the culture of your race is liie honestly I'm never going back and I hope you dont try it because if you like authentic Mexican food you will be...
Read moreCasa Maria has become our go to for Mexican food on Main. I tried a couple other places in this general vicinity and this is by far my favorite. The chimichanga was great (I had them put the cheese sauce on the side because I don't want my chimi drowning) and I liked it a lot. Refried beans and rice is good - some places the beans are a little thin but theirs are not. I've had the beef puffy tacos and they were good but very greasy. The beef taco salad is good - lots of beef but probably could have subtracted a bit of beef and added a little more lettuce.
The chips are my absolute favorite chips around. The chips are so good, I don't even care about the salsa. Thin, deep fried, delicious.
They do have some tables if you want to eat there, not fancy on the inside but clean and nice. We always get it to go and the wait is usually about...
Read moreI've been in twice in the 5 weeks that the business has been open. I had the street tacos the first time and they were so tasty and filling. My wife and I dined again last night and I asked the waiter for the best burrito they had. I don't know the name of it, but it had pork and a seasoned shrimp that was the best I've ever tasted. This burrito had to be at least 12 ounces, if not a pound and covered in a delicious cheese sauce. Overall a little pricey, but this hidden gem has the best Mexican food in Belleville. Probably St.Clair Co. Good bye Mariachi's and hello Casa Maria...
