10th Street Baking Co — Restaurant in Belleville

wanted to order cupcakes but the guy on the phone only said they had chocolate and vanilla, this made no sense to me at all... I began to ask if he made all of his cakes homemade he responded and said yes.. if he made everything homemade why would he only be able to do chocolate and vanilla cupcakes??? Later on that week I stopped in to try the cupcakes they sold daily and it was horrible! no wonder why he only has 2 flavors .. They have had to been store bought tasted like walmart cake. The "buttercream" He topped them with had a old smell to it to begin with! There couldn't in no way possible in a million years have butter as an ingredient.. Literally there was CHUNKS of shortening in it!!!!! If I wanted pre bought cupcakes and nasty SHORTENING cream I would have taken myself to walmart its probably better quality there! Also I bought two sandwiches.. that's is the only good thing I have to say is the lady that does there deli is great. very polite good sandwichs.

This place should b a deli shop NOT FOR CAKES ... your getting cheated out of your money at this place .. if I was you id take your business to a different bakery.. there are many within 15 miles from tenth street. FAKE BAKERY BEWARE. I will never refer anybody to this place or go back myself TRy abbeys café in Belleville Amazing food Awesome Deserts or Sweet katies bees in offallon il !! ALL organic and actually HOMEMADE :) good...

10th Street Bakery is a must follow on Facebook or you won't know when it will be open. It is an after hours bakery/bar with drink specials and sometimes food specials too. The atmosphere is fun with retro alternative music playing in the background and just about everything is numbered, not kidding!!! Don will spin the wheel and if you happen to be at the number the wheel lands on you are a winner! Haven't won yet but so much fun!

Don has the best gooey butter cake around hands down and he does all kinds of flavors too. Orginal is still my fave.😋

And apparently Belleville is know for peanut squares, not being from here orginally I had no idea what these were. But I can attest to the red velvet peanut square tasting like a deconstructed boston baked bean candy. Do you remember those from when you were a kid?? What a treat for the taste buds and a trip to the past.

Don was great, the welcomed us with a smile.

My wife had the drink of the evening, The Pantagoni. It was great, and we also tried the orange passion fruit sangria, sweet and refreshing. We had the smoked chiken sandwich with a cup of chili. It was delicious. The chili, hot(temperature), as it should be; but the sandwich with bacon, melting cheese, and smoky chicken wrapped in toasty bread, delicious.

And the wheel! You gotta be there. Hopefully, you are sitting at the right number to win a baked good. Our experience was great....
