Went to the Cider Shed to have a plow flight with a friend. I ordered one inside, and he was directed to order on the patio since that is where we were sitting. 20 mins after ordering his flight (both of our food had come out already) the sweet server came out and asked if he ordered a flight as well. He said yes and she responded that it was 2 people per flight and we couldn’t do 1 each. We told her we’d done it before (which we have multiple times) & she said she’d send a manager out. We were fine sharing and them sending his out in half an hour or so once we finished the first one. After an hour a manager never came outside. When we went inside to inquire about a refund, the manager met us at the counter and said “what do you need”. We told her a refund since a manager never came out to rectify the situation. She turned around said “sorry” and handed us a slip with refund issued. Apparently she issued a refund and just never came outside to tell us/talk to us. She was incredibly rude. We have no problem following a new policy, but we wanted to speak with a manager to make sure we could get the second flight after a half hour or so of having the first one. We love the cider shed and visit many times year round. This managers clear lack of care to have a conversation with her guests made us both decide to no longer come to eckerts cider shed. Like i said, we had no issue with the rule, we just wanted to set a timeline of when we could get our second (already paid for) plow flight. This manager ruined our experience, and clearly this place is no longer run by competent and kind people like the old...
Read moreThis place has gone downhill for my wife and I. Food was cold and lacked flavor (seemed pre-made). We had two small (COLD) Burger sliders and the "Cider Fries"(not sure if the name. These used to be awesome but now they are cold, no flavor, barely any salt - NOT what we remembered. Mule drink was ordered, dropped off unceremoniously and that was it. Bar Staff was not interested in interaction with the customers. We were directed to scan the menua and use the online ordering system. Someone from the kitchen brought the food (none of the 3 people behind the EMPTY bar could be bothered I guess). Person from the kitchen (young lady with dark/black? hair was very nice and polite.) Place was not crowded .... just seemed like the 3 people behind the bar were focused on each other and not...
Read moreWe went to Eckerts for Mother's Day. Although there were a lot of people there, everyone was spread out doing different things. First, we stopped at the cider shed to get a bite to eat. We loved the set up and outdoor eating area. Ordering by phone was easy. The food looked really good and the portions were generous. I liked both the brisket nachos and mushroom filled dumplings but neither of us loved either one.
The nachos were drenched in both the cheese and BBQ sauce. A little too much of the mixed flavors. There was a citrus flavor that clashed with the beer cheese flavor. I'm my opinion. Just a little too much of two different tangs for me.
I could not taste the mushrooms in the dumplings. The other flavors were over powering. As I said, they weren't bad, but I didn't love...
