La Mesa Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Bellevue

This restaurant has somewhat decent food. I’m from California and hard to compare to Nebraska. I ordered a pick up order online. Showed up at the time it said it was ordered. Waited 5 minutes before I was even greeted. Waiters walked passed me! Ignored me. Two of them! I understand businesses are short staffed. Every business is short staffed but you could at least say “hi, I’ll be right with you” let’s role play that.

Finally came up to me and asked what I needed. Said I have a pick up order and gave my name-waitress turned her head to help the people that just walked in and seat them. I said can you check on my order first as I’ve been waiting before you seat them. Ignored me and seated them. Waited another 5 minutes. A gentleman asked if I was helped. I said I’m not sure as I told the women I was waiting for the pick up order and he said okay. I said but I’m not sure if she checked. He said so you haven’t been helped then? I said she asked my name and then helped other customers so not sure if she checked on the order or if the order is ready or if she remembers my name. The man said okay, it’s not ready. I said okay but how do you know the name on the order. He said it’s not ready. Okay, fine.

Waited some more, women brought out food and said I didn’t ignore you. What? I didn’t say that she did even though I was thinking that. Why would you bring that up? I said it seemed like you were but I’m not going to argue with you. I’m trying to leave with my food and she is arguing with me about how she didn’t ignore me.

I get it-you want to focus on the tables that are there in person so you can get a tip. I tipped pretty well for a pick up order. Will not go to this location. I will go to the other locations from now on.

No excuse not to have customer service no matter how short...

This review is for the special 5 course tequila dinner event, not a regular dinner vist!

When this promotion popped up I was skeptical because I am not a regular of La Mesa. The regular menu is just the same typical amercanized Mexican food that you find at most Mexican restaurants. But after last night, I just have to ask, why can't they let the chefs do more of this? They clearly have the skills. Add these type of dishes to the regualr menu! All the dishes were amazing.

Mexican angel hair pasta soup, a shrimp ceviche-style cocktail, braised duck enchiladas mole, and braised lamb with heirloom potatoes. All were fantastic and sadly there is nothing comparable on their regular menu.

Speaking with fellow event goers, I learned that La Mesa does this 2-3 times a year. I was surprised that in my 8 years in Omaha, this was the first I have heard of it.

They even had a representative from the Cazadores distillery there to co-host. Telling us about each of the tequilas and answering any questions we had. We even enjoyed a tequila, the Cazodores Cristalino, which is not yet available for purchase in Nebraska.

Next time this pops up, I highly recommend this to everyone. It was a fun time with great Mexican food and great tequila. You won't be...

I believe that they are the total package when you're craving Mexican food restaurant style!!! I have always been more then satisfied after every experience dining-in and even when ordering pick-up at La Mesa! No complaints whatsoever bc in my experience they're; very fast service(always feels perfectly planned somehow,) with great customer service, very reasonable pricing on they're menu/specials🤑, AND with those super gracious portion sizes they feed you.. it surely feels like a steal to me! The two different locations I've been to are clean and beautifully decorated! If a b-day celebration gets you to La Mesa, make sure to mention that to Staff. They have such a fun, unique tradition that they put on for the b-day person, and a free dessert! 🥳 I leave every single time extremely happy, and satisfied! OH!!... ALSO after leaving, there is that right kind of full-tummy feeling, the one where you're good for rest of night, BUT.. you're not TOO full..you know the one where there is some level of discomfort or the regrettably stomach hurting, might puke, too full feeling?!?! 🤮
