Sandy's Chill Spot Ice Cream & Seafood Restaurant Bellingham — Restaurant in Bellingham

This place sits on the side of the road in pretty desolate Bellingham, although a busy street, its in the middle of a field not really close to anything else. I had heard the place was good so I figured I would give it a try for both dinner and ice cream. This is the only ice cream place around for miles so you can imagine it gets pretty crowded.

For dinner, the menu is your typical summer menu, with tons of selections of grilled items like hot dogs, grilled cheese, burgers and seafood. I ordered the fish and chips and it was excellent and hit the spot. The burgers are cooked to order and hot dogs are two choices, beef or Kayem. Fries are excellent The ice cream menu on the other hand is very large, with tons of soft serve and hard ice cream flavors, sundaes and even frappes and shakes and Italian ice and frozen lemonade. I ordered the Reese's Sundae and it was delicious and was just the right size. Sandy’s what happened? My family and I have been big Sandy’s supporters for years. They used to have bomb chicken fingers huge flat ones but have gone away from those the past few years. It seems like the prices keep going up and the quality and portions keeps going down. The last time we went was probably the last time we’ll go for a while. Broken sharp picnic tables that weren’t cleaned, no vanilla, soupy soft serve, skimpy Sundays and the cherry on top was replaced with a mosquito in my kids ice cream. I have driven past this place for almost 4 years a d have always wanted to stop here with my wife and daughter. Got the chance tonight tondo so and This honestly is by far the single best icecream stand I have been to in years. Great prices. The homemade icecream is beyond amazing. Portions are great. So many different flavors I took 30 minutes deciding what I wanted. I got a waffle cone sundae. With butter pecan and all the toppings. Great flavor and even better time well spent with the family.
