The Smoke Shack — Restaurant in Belmond

I ordered a 4 meat plate with all 4 meats wanting to try love my bbq out of all the meats I tried the brisket was super dry not enough to charge what the price is for the plate the pork was dry had a weird smoke flavor like liquid smoke was used the chicken was shredded like the pork I found 3 bones in my chicken almost swallowing 1 told the waitress didn’t make a big deal since it’s chicken but shouldn’t find that if it’s shredded now the sausage was probably the best of all 4 compared to what I’ve found in Iowa so far the sides are awesome had fries and coleslaw tasted great the owner being from Texas made me think this place would be great since my family and I are from there but big disappointment not sure if it was a bad day to go since a friend told me it was awesome but it was definitely not Texas approved at all. Food: They have good Brisket. I had the Brisket sandwich with side. The fries were great and the Brisket was good. Not the best I've ever had but very good. The cheese curds were yummy. Although it didn't have anything to drink they had lots of options. Saw some other really good looking food get served as well.

Service: staff were GREAT! Took the time to answer questions and give recommendations. They checked in and and keep glasses full.

Atmosphere: Don't judge this book or in this case restaurant by it's cover. The outside looks sus but the inside it completely remodeled. New floors, seating, restrooms, and bar area. It definitely has a sports bar feel with many TVs and sports memorabilia.

Driving through Iowa and decided to stop here. Don’t let the outside deceive you — the atmosphere is really nice and they clearly care a lot about creating a good establishment.
