I have nothing good to say about this shop. I was in from Virginia visiting family and stopped by to get a dozen donuts for the road to try.
First off, multiple signs stating no photography in the shop. Once inside, none of the donuts are labeled, so you don't know if they have a cream center, custard center, or jelly center. It's all a guessing game! No prices advertised either. Again, just a big guessing game.
The lady working was incredibly rude. I tried to make friendly small talk, telling her that it was my first time there, but she didn't crack a smile; just an absolutely miserable person.
I ordered a dozen donuts and an apple fritter. She did mention that the apple fritter was a separate charge, but failed to mention that the donuts with a center were more expensive.
You can imagine my shock at the register when I see that it's nearly $25 for a dozen donuts and an apple fritter.
Two words; Never again.
I do not recommend. There are far too many donut shops in the area that are far more superior. Worst of all, the donuts weren't even good.
Who's keeping this place...
Read moreMcHappys Donuts is hands down the absolute best place to get donuts. I will NEVER get another donut from Speedway or anywhere else again. I'm spoiled on this place. When the donuts are fresh, they can't be beat or even come close to being beat. The Bavarian Cream and Glazed are my favorites. Don't ask me to chose because I won't. I tried a Canoli this last trip also a humongous Sugar Cookie. I personally did not care for the Canoli. Now, the sugar cookie on the other hand, was rather scrumptious. Yum Yum Yum! I never used to eat donuts so that means that I've been converted. They have a huge of selection of goods. Some , I've never seen or heard of. Everything looks so good. They also have pepperoni rolls, ham and cheese & pizza rolls. They have coffee and they will heat up your rolls should you order them. All of the staff are very friendly and seem to be pretty genuine. They have some small tables if you would like to sit, drink coffee and read the newspaper. If you are wondering if I would recommend this donut shop......ummmm Absolutely! I'd be a...
Read moreAn abomination and absolute travesty. Went there cause JRs was closed. We all know McHappys isnât great but I really didnât expect it to be THAT bad. Whoopie pie tasted freezer burnt, there was no chocolate or whoopie pie flavor at all, it literally tasted like it had been in the freezer for 5 months. It tasted like the smell of my ice cube trays. The oatmeal cookies were hard/rubbery, cake donuts were dry. The only thing we were able to eat the whole thing of was the iced shortbread cookie, which tasted like it came from the Foodland deli. Burger King could make better baked goods. I cannot believe I wasted $13 on 3 cookies, 2 donuts, and 1 whoopie pie. Aside from the shortbread cookie, we threw everything away after one bite. Immediate onset acid reflux after trying these...
