Uncle Buck's Diner — Restaurant in Belvidere

A small town establishment with really great food. Never had a bad experience here and the food has always been great! They have a great breakfast menu with Omlettes, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, just to name a few. I always enjoy the Omlettes where my kids stick to the pancakes. Staff is always friendly and service is excellent. Portions are decent and price is right. My coffee cup was filled when empty. What more can you ask for. Not in the mood for breakfast, theynl have tasty lunch menus as well. If you lucky, you can grab a window seat. Pretty sure the river is the Peaquest, There is a small waterfall where the ducks often congregate. The first time I went, the food was amazing. I mean so good; the pancakes were like butter - so fluffy and delicious. The other two times I went, the most recent this past weekend, sad to say, I was beyond disappointed. I ordered the creamed chipped beef (second time) and the biscuits with chicken gravy (third time). Both of those visits the food came out cold, and when gravy is cold it turns into a thick, congealed mess. Sorry to say, but it was disgusting. I won't be going back anytime soon. I have a huge pet peeve about paying for something and not being satisfied. If it happens once, OK that happens, but then a second time, nope. I visited the diner today. My waitress refused to change my order right after she put it in the pos system. I asked maybe 30 seconds after ordering. Literally the worst service I've ever received. I'd understand if I asked to change my order and the food was already being cooked but that wasn't the case. After she gave me the bill, she passively aggressively said I could order what I wanted next time? Like yeah sorry lady never bringing my money back here. If the management views this, it's your young female waiter with tattoos working on 5/30. We were nothing but nice and I even left the standard tip even tho I really shouldn't have.
