On a recent visit, I ordered the corned beef hash with eggs over medium—everything was cooked spot-on, and the hash had just the right balance of texture and flavor. My guest had the huevos rancheros and was equally impressed by the freshness of the salsa and the perfectly runny eggs.

Service was warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the food came out quickly—even during a busy weekend brunch rush. The atmosphere is casual, family-friendly, and genuinely welcoming, with locals chatting over coffee and staff treating regulars like old friends.

Just what we were looking for. Good ol' American breakfast and lunch fare... something I am very fond of (greasy spoon diners) as my parents have owned some of these types of diners and drive-up American restaurants.

Location is a bit out of the way for most, I'd imagine, as it is in the industrial area of Benicia. But, that leaves for very little traffic and pedestrians to have to contend with. If you know your way around this town, the drive along the back-roads is amazing.

Decor is quite outdated but that's not why you'd go there anyway. The place is huge with nice high ceilings and large well-spaced tables.

The only thing I'd say, is our server kept giving us items that were "adjacent" to what we requested. For example, we asked for a certain breakfast dish then we get something else that is a similar item but not what was originally requested. We ordered one brand of beer and got a different one. To her credit, she was busy and was a bit flustered. But hey, we are all scraping our ways back in this industry, right? Either way, service was very attentive, from the door to the floor.

Recently took my family to Benicia Grill for breakfast. It’s been our favorite breakfast place for years. The service is great and the food is always delicious and fresh. My favorite is the Garden Omelette and my husband loves the Steak Fajita Omelette and the Chicken Fried Steak combo. We noticed, while at the register to pay, a poster advertising that Benicia Grill will be having a Valentine’s Day dinner special for two for $75 including choice of entree, from Prime Rib, Salmon, Steak, Pastas and more. Dinner includes two sides, salad and dessert! They will be open from 7am until 9pm for breakfast, lunch and dinner on Valentine’s Day. We definitely will be there for Valentine’s Day for dinner.
