If you are looking for an authentic Michigan dive bar, you have arrived. This gem has been a workingman’s bar and grill for at least 80 years. And it’s the only place you can still get what the locals call a Roxy burger, a deluxe cheeseburger made even better with green olives on it. (People from places that are not-Michigan might be puzzled by that combo but trust me—try it and you’ll wish your state had it, too.) Here is the spot if you're looking for a classic Benton Harbor / St Joseph Roxy Burger. The owner used to own Roxy Brown Lantern on M139 and his wife worked at the St Jospeh Roxy's back in its hay day. An absolutely great 1/3 lb burger . If you want it bigger there is a double & even a triple. The burger was my go to for years. Until I saw the owner's wife prepare a ham & cheese deluxe. I would never order one of those had I not seen it prepared. Now that is my jam. Had some wings today. Dynamite a nice sweet & spicy sauce. No need for Blue Cheese or ranch dressings, the sauce was that good.

At lunch you can get out of there with a tip for $10 having a burger & beverage. Classic old school bar complete with a pool table. My sister swears by the cauliflower.
