The people who run the place are really great people, and I feel terrible leaving a bad review. But, I get take out instead of the buffet. I will say that the buffet looks like it is much better than what I get for takeout, which is a large part of the problem.
I've gotten a calzone and/or pizza 3 times now. The calzones are good, and the pizza has potential to be but just has silly mistakes made that turn it from ok to bad. First time I ordered the pizza was burned to hell and back, should've never been allowed out the door like that. The second time I ordered calzones which were good but not as well spiced as the ones in Richmond, still over all good. The third time was the pizza and calzone. My girlfriends calzone was good itself but she was given sweet and sour sauce instead of pizza sauce. The pizza itself was cooked "well done" which I can live with even though I didn't ask for that. The biggest problem was the pepperoni being under the cheese though, meaning you get pepperoni with no texture AND every time you bite into a pepperoni, you end up pulling all the cheese off the pizza with it. Again, I don't know why that was allowed to leave the store.
I want to love this place because I do quite like you the owners, and I love going to the Richmond location. But this Berea location needs it's standards raised before I...
Read moreMy first experience at Giovanni‘s was not the best. The food was OK pretty fresh a couple of the boys kept the pizzas moving pulling old and putting out new. The lettuce was a little iffy, starting to turn brown. Maybe shouldn’t put as much apt at a time. My biggest issue, and I heard a couple other guests, saying the same thing. Plates were dirty, a shelf holding the plates was pretty disgusting. There was no sign of management. And 90% of the time all the youngsters who were working we’re in the back no one there to attend to a guests needs. One time a young lady came out to wipe a table and she wiped it onto the seats and most of it onto the floor. The floors were disgusting, food, napkins, little bit of everything. The woman’s restroom was pretty gross as well. I do plan on taking my father there, but it’s questionable because he won’t eat in a dirty place.. we needed a nice restaurant on this exit so it is very appreciated that you’re here. But it definitely needs work on the cleanliness. I don’t think people would like to eat in a dirty restaurant. I wish you guys the best and it seems that you’re going to be a very busy place. Just maybe stay on top of...
Read morePlease don't eat here, the food and the service is terrible. The party of 6 including myself, tried asking one of the staff if it was ok to put a couple tables together since there wasn't a table large enough for our group. The staff member looked at us turned around and left, leaving us confused. The buffet was old lukewarm if at all and floppy maybe even doughy. There was NO labels for the pizzas saying what they were. I got a Buffalo sausage pizza(?) still don't know what it was. I thought it was a regular sausage pizza. The salad bar was messy and not appetizing at all. In all honesty, the food on the buffet counter looked very iffy. My mother, got boneless mild chicken wings and they were rancid. She wasn't able to eat them at all. My step dad got the Big Red sub and it also wasn't good. The only drinks we were able to choose from was Diet Pepsi and Pepsi, the rest were out. The other members of our group also ordered wings and they were also rancid. The only thing we could seemingly eat was the garlic bread and the prepackaged marinara sauce. This was a total waste of time and money. McDonald's is better than this....
