Terrible in every way. Twenty six tavern replaced Delicious Heights at Basking Ridge Country Club, and I would say stay away. When I sat down on my chair, I realized I was too far from the table. I stood up slightly, gripped the sides of the chair cushion, pulled the chair forward and sat down. Except my finger got caught in between the seat cushion and the frame, and that motion crushed my finger. The two pieces had separated and my finger was caught in the middle. I tried to ignore the pain, but couldn't. The manager Matt walked by, and I said to him that my finger was throbbing after jamming it between the cushion and frame, and Matt apologized. And that was it. So I held up my finger and showed him it was red, puffy, and my nail was broken. Again he said, "I'm sorry. We'll take care of that." Then he walked away. Nothing. No replacing my chair right away. Matt knew my friend and I were celebrating our mutual birthday at lunch. No slice of cake. Nothing. I decided to call the GM of the Basking Ridge country club to discuss this with him. Three voice mails over the course of 5 days. No response. I was furious and annoyed over the fact that my finger was throbbing, my nail was broken (waste of a manicure), and my attempts at speaking with the GM were ignored, dading insult to actual injury. On top of that, my portobello mushroom sandwich contained the smallest portobello I've ever seen, and was bland. For $15. A mushroom on a bun. $15. Tastless on all accounts. This meal was overpriced, cost me additional money afterward, and caused me pain. Great birthday celebration. What a...
Read moreThe male host with a big set of keys has no clue about hospitality. Last evening he ruined a special celebration we wanted to share with family. Clueless hostess seated at a table with an umbrella close to the outside the fire pit. Other umbrellas were opened. When family arrived we opened the umbrella so we could see and talk with each other. Male host came over and said we could not have the umbrella open near the fire pit. Right next to us and a table closer to the fire pit had their umbrellas open. He asked if we wanted the umbrella removed. He removed the umbrella. Service is terrible. Slow and clueless. Waited 20 minutes for drinks. We have been going to the Basking Ridge Country Club for 40 year as my sister had her wedding reception there and we live 4 miles away. I understand the difficulties we are under at this time. Too bad the “Male Host” did not do his job and have the umbrellas removed from the tables close to the fire pits BEFORE seating guests at the tables. He did nothing to expedite food or drink service. He tended to the fire pits.
If you want to go there, make a reservation and expect slow service. Food is good, but...
Read moreDo not go here. I really liked the Delicious Heights restaurant, so I thought that this one would be just as good. It wasn’t. First off, the service was horrible. They weren’t friendly and they took forever to wait our table. When we eventually got our food, it was some of the nastiest food I’ve ever tasted. I got the tacos, my wife got the queen ribs, my brother ordered the king ribs, and my son ordered the burger. The tacos tasted bland, and it was worse when you put the sauce they gave you on the taco. The ribs were a complete disaster. First off, no size difference. They looked nothing like ribs, and were probably the worst tasting ribs ever. I tried a piece of it, and yeah, bland like the tacos. The burger was really messy, and extremely undercooked. After we took a bite out of our food, we didn’t eat any more of it. 10/10 would not recommend
tl;dr this place is a waste of money and a downgrade of...
