Surf & Turf Lodge — Restaurant in Bessemer City

It was ok...we usually get carry-out which is quick & easy--they have outside pick up window so u can go in your pjs 😀 but sometimes they do mess up order & forget the extras we might ask for like seafood sauce or tarter sauce, if we order a large mixed plate---it is LARGE!! My hubby & I can order 1 LG. & share & order extra baked potato or fries--unfortunately that would b were They would mess up sometimes & forget to put in 1 of those extras above so we would have to split 1 baked potatoe --thank goodness most of their potatoes are large ! But I guess the person at window would think we got fries & forget the sour cream & butter. My recommendation is to always check your bags b4 you leave window!! We did have to start doing that..we never complained because they made it right at the window but once we made it home we were just disappointed cause we sure weren't going back to get missing items & they sure weren't bringing them to us❗❗ because I did call & ask & it was a big flat NO❗ So what do you do...stop going there or perform due diligence at window & piss ppl off behind us...we chose checking out bags! When you want something & PAY FOR THE EXTRAS---YOU SHOULD GET THEM!! But the food is good & lots of it ❗ you can even ask for salt & pepper in most items ! The whole flounder done that way is WONDERFUL! So eat there, you won't be...

Well my wife and I sat down to eat about an hour before closing... We both ordered steak I got the ribeye my wife the filet mignon, it took at least 20 min after we were sat to have our order taken. We went to make our salads got back to the table and I had a huge hair in it. I went back to make another at 25 min until closing and they had taken all the utensils and part of the salad bar up.. so no salad for me... We got our entree and low and behold my ribeye was a New York strip... Way over cooked with the smallest cold baked potato I've ever seen. My wife's steak looked to be a sirloin butterflied her potato was as well small and cold... I mean wouldn't melt butter... I've never had many complaints about this place but they were definitely geared to turn the lights out at closing time than to make costumers happy... Service was spacey and they had no concern over what they were servings... So I would definitely stay away from steaks at closing time and watch to see if you're actually getting the cut of meat...

My first and last meal from there...The fries that were ordered came to the table cold and limp, found a hair in my hush puppies..Answer to my complaint was " I'll tell the cook", had to wait on silverware before we could even eat our salads, ordered boneless wings but got bone-in..Sent them back and only got half of my order and had to wait 10 minutes for the other half, had to wait 30 minutes on a plate of food..we actually thought that they had to catch and clean the flounder themselves..When waitress was asked we were told the order didn't get written down, got desserts to go and of course we had to wait 15 minutes on cheesecake... Unbelievable!!! This was a birthday dinner for my mother and we had to sing happy birthday to her because we were told they were too busy to do so. We had 17 people in our group and we were all very upleased...17 out of 17 people in our group will not be returning to Surf & Turf...
