J Wings — Restaurant in Bessemer

Was really excited about trying this place after hearing about it over the past few years. If you weren't paying attention you would never even notice the building.

Now on to the food. The wings. I orders 10 piece combo half lemon pepper half honey hot. I wanted to try the honey hot because it was recommended in another review.

First the positive: There was some good flavors in the wings. Yep that's it. Oh fries were decent. They were kind of soggy and not crispy at all.

The negative: Service was bland. Lady at the front seemed like she didn't want to be there. Which I usually aren't too bothered by but combined with equally bad food, not a good first impression. I'm from Bessemer so I really wanted to give it more than 1 star but when you cant even finish the food, hard to give anything higher than 1 star.

As you can see from the picture, 1 of the wings still had it's wings, literally. That should have been enough toss the meal but I really wanted to try the food. Lemon pepper had decent flavor but there wasn't enough lemon pepper. I then tried a bite of the honey hot and while the flavor was good the wing had a real off taste to it. I knew that if I continued my stomach was gonna regret it. Those few bites of wings I tried had me feeling a little off.

I don't know if they were having a bad day but if this is the norm I'm struggling to see how they are even still in business. Bessemer deserves better...

Food was delicious and zero complaints on the food quality! I ordered online and the chicken tenders under sandwiches is really confusing. I didn't realize it meant it was a sandwich bc it was a picture of literal chicken tenders with no option to customize a sandwich like the burgers. I thought I was ordering tenders only. I went in to question why I got a sandwich and the rude cashier scrolled on the order without saying a word, to show me it was actually a sandwich. It is really confusing online but whatever I just took the chicken off the sandwich and made do. That should be an easy fix by putting a different picture or no picture at all. Doubt we come back tho bc there no sense in being so cold and rude to customers supporting your business and spending a lot there too.....70 dollar to go order! I see on several other reviews that this is not a one time issue and she's rude to everyone. Probably should pick a position where you're not dealing...

The food is always good! That’s never a problem. It’s the cashier’s attitude ‼️‼️ Im sooo glad the brown skin girl took my order, she’s so kind and sweet. But, the dark skin girl with the short hair and the glasses attitude sooo STANK‼️‼️ Please teach her how to act with customers. I heard her take a customer order and I was baffled. Baby girl just because u behind that counter don’t mean NOTHING ‼️‼️‼️😭 Yo mouth nasty and yo attitude nasty and I hope you change it before someone check it.i know for a FACT im not the only one saying this. Me and my husband dread going sometimes just because of HER‼️ I love supporting my people but there are other wing places around! I go here because it reminds me of home. Her attitude I guarantee is costing this place money‼️People won’t come back...
