Rosewood Café — Restaurant in Bethalto

Was in a few weeks ago as I was in the area on business and decided to try a small town spot. Atmosphere is very live laugh love-esque, not my thing but it was warm and inviting. Staff was friendly enough, though the wait was quite noticeable...especially since we were two seven people in the place. I had the steak, egg, and cheese everything bagel, and the bagel was the best part. Having worked in kitchens the steak is clearly left in a steam table pan which is a shame, it really destroys any flavor it might have otherwise. A little tough, as well. If you buy low quality steak, you could at least velvet it. My partner had the Reuben dog (or, "Ruben" dog as their menu lists it) and it was fine. Nothing noteworthy, it was a fine hot dog and the Reuben twist...

A cute little cafe and I hope they do well. I will try again but I feel that what I got was quite expensive. The breakfast burrito looks amazing on the menu posted on Facebook, and it was fine but it definitely needed some salsa on the side. I'm not sure if it is normally offered, but without salsa it's kind of bland. My lunch today was the breakfast burrito (no sides) and a cupcake and before tip it was 17 dollars. That being said, I know that running a small business, especially a restaurant, involves razor thin profit margins, but if a breakfast burrito is more than ten dollars I'll probably skip it next time and try the less cute option...

Such an adorable cafe! The menu is amazing and every time I come back, there are more new items! The drink menu is insanely awesome. Love all of the sugar free options! My favorite bagels ever! Getting them grilled is a must! The staff is always so welcoming and helpful when you can’t quite decide what you want. We also just hosted my daughter’s birthday party at the cafe. We had a build your own pasta bar with both hot and cold options, then the girls watched a movie on blankets on their outdoor screen! Again, the staff was amazing and catered to every want/need and really spoiled us and our girl the way she should be on her...
