Ive come here many times and have always had a good experience and food. however, I came in to the restaurant on NYE 2019 with a reservation. We were sat at our table (for 4) in a doorway where small children could not fit at. Almost as if they threw a table there for us in hopes we'd squeeze in. Unfortunately we could not, so we decided to wait for a spot at the bar for 4 to open up. Once we found seating, which was about 30 mins after our reservation, we waited another 35 mins before we finally flagged a bartender down to get us menus and drinks. We proceeded to sit there another 35 mins before we were snottily greeted by the bartender to take our order when another member of our party said we wanted to order. Another 25 mins food finally came. First person I was with ordered the steak medallions with shrimp, he received a New York strip steak with NO SHRIMP! He did not want to complain, as we were all starving at this point and he just ate it. I ordered the shrimp and lobster and my lobster was so overcooked and dry it tasted like jerky with a crunchy coating. I of course said something after almost choking on a bite and they immediately brought out another tail (not sure how that happened so fast), which was better but still very overdone. The other 2 meals came out fine. One person ordered desert and another ordered the Spain coffee which he received with just liquor on bottom creme in middle and whip cream on top. He stirred and sipped and almost spit it out. It wasn't hot! Ice cold and all liquor, they forgot the coffee! Finally the check comes, we asked for split check bartender says no problem. 25 mins later she comes back throws 2 checks on the table, 1 with 1 person whose steak was wrong and the rest on a second check and proceeds to say to us that she refused to sit at the register 1 more min to try and split check up. So fine, whatever. Bill was $175 with tip. We then proceed to pay the bill with 2 visa gift cards and she comes over and says that they won't work . Confused we asked why and she had no answers for us except she wasn't visa or the internet...... But said she'd go try anyway. 1 card was for $50 other was for $100 the $50 one goes through and leaves the balance at $94 and change, After another 25 mins she comes back and says the $100 wouldn't work. We couldn't figure out why in the restaurant so we put on our credit card (which we weren't anticipating doing, as we were using our Christmas gifts). Finally, once we left we realized the issue was she was trying to put $100s on a $94 bill naturally its going to reject it. The 4 of us felt very insulted at times and definitely neglected and unappreciated. There were several guests complaining around us about the food especially the lobster tail. Holiday or not regardless of how busy you are there is no excuse for the kind of service we received. My wife has been in this industry for almost 20 years, and while she experiences issues with the kitchen being swamped or unhappy guests, still does her job with a smile and makes the guests feel welcome. I will also note that there was another girl behind the bar that didn't assist the bartender with anything! I'm not sure exactly what her position or title is, but she seemed useless and in the way. Will most...
Read moreI was so looking forward to our first time here after the incredible reviews I had read. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect same. The paellas which my husband and I both ordered were lackluster at best. We truly could not taste any type of seasoning in them including the rice be it saffron, paprika, salt, etc usually found in a paella. The rice contained no taste and appeared to not even be cooked with that nice crust usually found in paella as well as close to any kind of flavorful. The most disappointing part, however, was the fish. The shrimp and scallops were so tiny and gave the appearance and taste of being frozen not beautiful, large, fresh seafood found normally in paellas. The mussels and clams barely contained pieces you could even taste they were so small and again nothing tasted seasoned. The lobster was rubbery and dry as was the chicken in my husband's. The other piece of lobster shell actually contained no meat and I'm thinking it was put on the plate for show. The quality of the seafood as well as the seasonings must improve. I'm hoping this experience was a fluke but because of it we will definitely not return. For the prices, a lot better quality was expected and to be quite honest, we have made better paella at home. I will say the service and waiter we had was great though and I apologize for forgetting his name. Sorry but I'm being honest. Very...
Read moreI have lived in this area for 7 years and drove past this place so many times, but have never gone in. Just was never really in the mood for what I remembered as Spanish food because I thought it was just paella. I was craving duck so my husband and I decided to have an early Valentine's Day date and go here, since duck was on the menu. This place did not disappoint. I had the duck and hubby had the salmon. Both were perfectly prepared. We also had the artichoke heart bruschetta as an appetizer and it was amazing. If the food wasn't enough, the service was excellent. My cup was never empty as they were constantly refilling our wine and water. At the end they even gave us some amaretto for dessert, on the house. The food and the service was something you would find at an upscale NYC restaurant at a fraction of the price. If you are looking for a romantic evening out, I highly suggest Spain Inn 2. They do have a childrens menu as well. In regards to Covid restrictions, I did not see anything that was not as per protocol. You must make a reservation as seating can be limited, especially these days. I can't...
