Worst dining experience in decades. Bad food, bad service and prices that don’t reflect that. The list:
Very clearly ordered martini with a twist clean and it came very dirty and long wait to correct Ordered cowboy ribeye for entree and 10 minutes later told it was sold out Then ordered pork chop which was also sold out. These were two of the four main meat options and it was 7:15 pm on a Saturday. Restaurant was 75% occupied. Asked for bread and told we had to order it. We did and waited 45 minutes for it (after asking 3 times when it was coming) First person’s appetizer came 40 minutes after ordering, second person’s came 45 minutes and third person’s came 55 minutes after. And the potato cake appetizers were bland and pedestrian. Obviously sourced at Sysco. Had to pitch a fit after a 1.5 hours wait to get our entrees. When the entrees came the scallops were still frozen and the Wagyu steak was purple (it was ordered medium rare). Waiter disappeared when things went wrong and endless series of bus people dealt with the issues. Waiter said manager would come talk to us—never did. We left without eating the entrees. While they comped the meal—I didn’t care about the money, they ruined a Saturday evening. And to top it off, while the room is beautiful they didn’t even have the big...
Read moreThe Landing is more than high-end Alpine dining at its finest - it's an otherworldly culinary experience. Executive Chef Matt Dahlkemper and his team are creative artists who put a lot of thought and care into preparing your locally-sourced meal. The surprising, delectable layers of flavor in each dish, pops of texture (from savory to sweet), and bold hand-crafted cocktails will leave you wanting more. Among my favorites: 406 Lamb Leg, Spore Attic Smoked Mushrooms, Montana Waygu Strip Loin, Curried Corn Chowder with Lobster, Charred Eggplant Tahini, and Willy's Bourbon Caramel Custard (!!). Nestled between Lone Mountain and the Spanish Peaks, the views are breathtaking and the service is impeccable. Thanks to my server, Diana, and team for a truly wonderful experience. And, a special shout-out and lots of love to The Landing's globe-trotting chef and culinary legend, who also is my brother. You will definitely want to add The Landing to your list of must-visits next time...
Read moreWe chose The Landing as our first dinner experience in Big Sky and were not disappointed… from the attentive and seamless service, to the creative, fresh and delicious food, to the special and unique touches that made the experience memorable. Everything about our time here was incredible.
Most importantly, I can’t stop raving about the food. My favorites were the beef tartare and the lamb entree, but our table also ordered the 35oz cowboy tomahawk which was insane. You can also get beer in a boot which is so fun! Presentation was perfect making everything very IG-worthy.
The vibe is classy-casual, so while everything is very nice, it’s not stuffy or uptight. It’s perfect after a day on the mountain. We can’t...
