Little Mexico Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Big Stone Gap

Fantastic meal. We arrived at 8:30 pm on Friday night after traveling all afternoon and found it thru a Google search. Located in a strip center with Dollar Tree. Had a huge parking lot. We seated ourselves at a booth immediately and my wife went to the restroom while I ordered drinks. Free chips and salsa were brought to table. Drinks arrived before my wife returned so waitress waited patiently while we decided. We tried the salsa and I immediately commented how good it was as well as my wife. Had a wonderful flavor of cilantro which we both like. Sweet tea was also very good and we are hard to please when it comes to our tea. I ordered the little Mexico dinner which had a variety of items and my wife ordered a steak burrito. The food arrived in about ten minutes. From the first bite I commented how flavorful the red chili sauce was and the seasoning of the beef. The rice was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the refried beans were had a fantastic chunky consistency. My wife gave me a bite of her steak and it also was tender with just the right seasoning and that chargrilled flavor as if had been cooked on an open flame. Ohh 😯😮 I will have to be straightforward here as I am always anywhere else and today I had a meal fit for a King (Queen) and I was able to enjoy myself while eating there due to the time of day. Occasionally you can get inside and then you'll have to scream across the table for simple conversation if you don't organize your time to not co-inside with happy hour. I'm not knocking it at all because they have cold beer and mixed drinks and some times the other patrons are enjoying the drinks a little more than others. Just don't expect to take a toddler to dinner if you don't want to hear laughing and chatting in the background and maybe words that you don't want your smaller ones to hear. As long as you have respect and share respect with others you can sit down and enjoy yourself all the more. The food as I said was absolutely terrific today and we had a party of only 3, and the store was very slow at the time but our service was not up to the standard- in my opinion- I responded accordingly with the tip. Thank You for the delicious meal and I hope to go back and dine and enjoy everything...

Little Mexico (Li'l Mex to us and all our friends) is the hometown favorite for Mexican food and margaritas in far Southwest Virginia. Complementary chips & salsa the second you sit down, attentive and quick service, and futbol on the big screens if you're into that sort of thing. I love anything with their cheese sauce, enchilada sauce (a hint of cinnamon?), or burrito sauce (rich with cumin and the perfect amount of salt), but half the time I'll read through their entire menu before ordering my usual shrimp fajita chimichangas. Don't skip the vegetarian section of the menu - try ordering the fajita salad along with whatever entree you pick if it doesn't come with all the fixins. Come here to unwind after work or catch up with an old friend - before Li'l Mex, I didn't know how perfectly "comfort food"...
