My husband and I have been coming here since it opened as well as bringing our parents here. We have been coming here roughly 3 times a week and drive from DeWitt to come here. Today was the 4th time we were told they can't take cash, which happens alot lately. What kind of business refuses cash? Some people chose not to have credit cards. We won't be back. Sadly we will be finding somewhere else to go. Its not worth driving all that way wondering if we are even going to be served.
Update: Thank you for taking the time to reply. We like going there and drive right by the DeWitt ice cream & golf place just to come there. Its just been something regular that my husband I do together and enjoy having that. Sometimes he works late so it is later in the night when we go but not just a few minutes before you close, so I don't see a reason why Cash is an issue unless they are doing it real early. I have been a General Manager for over 20 years in retail, so, I know about trying to take the drawer down early so its a quick closing. That being said, whether the drawer is counted down or not, I have never turned a cash paying customer away. It's not just our sales your losing because I have seen others drive away as well because of it. May not be big transactions but I bet over the times that money has added up because it was the 4th time for us within a shorter time, there have been several more times before. I will for sure try again because we like it there, but if it happens again, I will stop...
Read moreJust litteraly got harrassed by 2 Clinton county police on friday night. Because the mother of the kid who was closing at 10pm decided to call the police at 10:10 when we were there with 6 12 yr old girls 2 9 yr old boys a 4 yr old girl and 3 adults. So when I decided to run and get toliot paper the mom couldn't wait 15 mins after close. She called the cops and as I was pulling in she drove out of the drive way. Needless to say if u don't want ur daughter working past 10 at a food establishment than she should probably talk to the owner. Cause I used to frequent there at least 2 times a week and buy over 40 dollars in icecream and tip well over 15 dollars on each visit to help the workers. In fact this night will be the last night I go there I spent 60 dollars on ice cream and tipped them 20 dollars. Huh I guess the times of were the customer got taken care of doesn't exist for twisters in St John's. Well I guess I'll drive to Ovid to go to the blue Moon and spend my money there as well as tip there workers there. Hope whoever's Mom feels great for calling the police out to come check out 9 kids and 2 woman when they could have been stopping someone getting robbed or stopped a drink driver from killing someone or heck maybe even stopped a burglar from...
Read moreI guess I didn't realize it was soft serve only, but as you can see from the menu, there are lots of different ice cream options and specialty items. You can either order and sit outside, while you listen to country music or utilize the drive thru, which seemed like the majority of people decided to do when we were sitting there. The picnic tables are in the shade, so that was nice. The only thing I'd say, is to have an ice machine. When I asked for an ice water, I was told I could get a cup of tap water without ice or buy a bottled water. We ended up buying some pops. No biggie...I just personally enjoy ice water instead of buying bottled water. Side note...there are ice cream treat options for pets I believe, unless the lady brought her own dog bone treat and asked them to put it in a bowl. Overall, great experience. Will be...
