Billy's Sports Grill — Restaurant in Birmingham

To preface this review I say we have only eaten here a few times as we are from out of town although we have family we visit who live near the Overton site. The quality of the food has never been an issue but service has been an issue the last two times. This past Friday Dec 13th this facility was very busy and very possibly short staffed. There were a list of items which occured to which this review is addressed to. One of our 7 meals initially came wrong as barbeque wings were ordered and buffalo wings arrived. The correct meal finally came after all others were finished eating. Two of the seven meals came long before the others. One of our group had requested ranch 4 times and I eventually went to the bar as the manager was present there and he was able to get the ranch delivered. One of the late arriving meals had been sitting ready for some length of time as when it arrived it wasn't hot only mildly warm. One dish a chicken wrap was ordered with fried chicken but arrived grilled. When we mentioned it the tone of the server was very apparent they were surely hoping we didn't want to have it exchanged. Some of our group the server was always filling the waters although others were left dry to the point we had to go to that bar to request more water. The final issue I have with this establishment is how the server stands over you while you are trying to pay for your meal. You don't have time to look over your ticket and it's somewhat intimidating trying to calculate the gratuity while the server is standing over you waiting for you to finish the transaction. As mentioned the food is usually always good and the manager seems to try and accommodate the guest and/or issues but we have had server/kitchen issues...

We went on a saturday night not busy at all.. including us there was a total of 10 people there. When we were seated my daughter went to the ladies room and we were getting concerned of how long she was gone and finally she came out. She had been trying to clean the stall she was using with her pocket hand sanitizer it was that bad.. should have predicted that ahead considering how sticky the floor was when we were walking to our table.. it was really bad.. when my order came out the chicken strips were not edible because they had been cooked so long they were as hard as a brick. However i will say that our waitress was the sweetest and very eager to be of service and the bartender made an awesome strawberry margarita.. it might be an okay place to maybe stop for a couple of drinks but wouldnt recommend...

Well we usually like eating here but today was just an overall bad experience. The hostess told us no indoor tables were available but we could sit outside with the fan. We go outside and there’s one fan pointed at an already occupied table. The other tables had no shelter and were filthy. We went back in and asked to wait for indoor table. The party of five behind us was immediately seated inside after we were told no indoor tables available. We finally got to a table and it took 30 minutes to get waitress to take our order. Food comes out and it is so salty I cannot stand it. My children even commented on saltiness of food and they eat anything. We are still here over an 1 1/2 later and haven’t seen our waitress in 20 minutes. We just want our check and to go. Bad food poor service and prob...
